Gibbs - Reflective - Cycle-PERCEPTION COORDINATION
Description
As I got into the clinical exposure/rotation which is the Perception and Coordination at MJ Santos
Hospital, I gained a lot of fresh and new knowledge that I am sure I would carry throughout my
student nursing journey. We were given a chance to interact and deliver care to our patients in the
medical ward by having a thorough physical assessment and vital signs taking. We also had an
NCP conference where our clinical instructor guided us and gave us his point of view regarding
our presentation.
Feelings
I've experienced a range of feelings and emotions. From the charting in MJSH, NCP conference,
pre-test, and doing SOAPIE. I have definitely learned a lot. But I was kind of thankful that we
weren’t bombarded with a lot of assessments or activities which is what I was imagining. The
time allotted was just enough for us to comply and pass on time. It was indeed a good experience
making analyzing different situations and formulating a plan of care for the patients.
Evaluation
Before the clinical rotation began, I already had an idea of what we were going to do because of
the previous clinical rotation we were in which was the Cellular Aberration at ADNPH. As a
result, I haven't encountered many serious issues. The only thing that is not in sync is that I had
minimal difficulty in complying with the charting during our first day of duty. Other than time
management, I haven’t had any major or big problems. This is because my group members were
there, we had a strong feeling of collaboration, and we assisted one another. Additionally, our
teacher was around to coach us and consider our comments.
Action Plan
With more time, I hope to increase and improve my self-motivation. For me to avoid the issue that
I have encountered during this clinical rotation, I need to have the right motivation and the right
time management. It is a big factor that will help me in completing my requirements and
assessments. I have to set goals, It’s almost impossible to use time well if you don’t know what to
do with it. Students can benefit from having short- and long-term goals. Organization, once
priorities are set, it’s important to have a plan for getting them done. Strategies like maintaining
an up-to-date calendar and keeping a tidy study environment help. and lastly, Managing stress.
Conclusion
The clinical experience was really not that easy if you would not organize your schedule and do
nothing with the time that the instructor provided. In today's busy world, time management skills
for students are increasingly important, especially since we are now in college and we have our
clinical rotation.
Description
I would practice the right time management as it is vital for our course which is Nursing. We
should learn how to balance our time in a way of organization. I can develop the required skills I
need by doing additional research regarding Perception and Coordination. I can make sure that I
will act differently next time by reflecting on my status and the way I struggle with the
requirements given which are not good.
