Introduction M12

The CGW 5355 service terminal can program, monitor and

upgrade software in the individual controllers in the RCL CGW 5355
5300 Safety System.

The CGW 5355 is always connected to the RCL 5300

controller, and it communicates directly with all controllers in
a CAN bus network.

CGW 5355 Service Terminal, basic package

The basic package contains: 1 2 3 ESC

• A CGW 5355 Service Terminal.
• An SD memory card. 4 5 6 DEL

• A 1.8 metre USB cable, type A-B2.0. 7 8 9 SET

The menu structure

The menu system is divided into four main areas: ”Online”, ”File”, ”CGW setup” and ”About CGW”.

Under menu item 1. Online, the CGW 5355 is connected to an RCL 5300 controller on the crane,
and there is online communication with this controller. The explanation to the menu items in the
table applies to “Online”.

Under menu item 2. File, it is possible to read and edit parameters in a crane profile, which has
been saved in the CGW 5355 Service Terminal. The menu system for ”File" is identical to the menu
system for ”Online”, only the menu item starts with the number 2.

Under menu item 3. CGW setup, it is possible to read status and possible errors on the SD-card of
the CGW. In this menu it is also possible to adjust the light and contrast on the display of the CGW,
and set the time zone of the internal clock of the CGW.

Under menu item 4. About CGW, practical information is available relating to the owner/user, serial
number, software and hardware version as well as expiry date of the CGW.

Navigation in the menu system

The functions in the CGW 5355 are divided in a menu structure with main groups and
subgroups. You can navigate forwards through the menu system by means of the ENT key and
backwards by means of the ESC key.

Each menu item has a menu number.

It is possible to jump to a certain menu number from any place in the menu system.
• Enter 0.
• Enter the first figure in the menu number.
• Press SET
• Enter the next figure in the menu number.
• Press SET…etc.
• Then enter ENT, and the menu item appears in the display.

In general about data in the menu system

Only data in relation to the relevant equipment fitted on the crane in question is indicated in the
menu system.

There are the following reading and editing possibilities:

• A parameter is only readable and is locked for editing.
• A parameter is editable within certain values.
• A parameter is completely editable.
