    Mission Statement:

    Shelter Partnership, Inc. is a nonprofit organization collaboratively solving homelessness in Los

    Angeles County through policy analysis, program design, resource development, and advocacy

    in support of agencies and local governments that serve the homeless.

    Mission Purpose:

    The Mission of this organization is to serve people experiencing homelessness within the Los

    Angeles area. This organization assists hundreds of families as the families transition from

    homelessness to permanent housing, and provide supporting services to the low income and

    formerly homeless families.


    I chose this nonprofit organization because homelessness is a present issue in my community that

    needs to be addressed and supported. More than 70% of the Los Angeles population is

    experiencing homelessness, either living in cars or is unsheltered. The purpose of this

    organization is to outreach the poor and needy of our community. Shelter Partnership Inc has

    been able to provide the needy with clothes, shoes, socks, and other essential needs. This

    organization benefits my community by providing security and personal safety to the homeless

    population in my community. As a volunteer for this organization, I envision myself to be

    supporting the needy by contributing household goods, mental health support, donating clothes,

    fundraising and spreading awareness towards homelessness. Volunteering in this organization

    would make me feel satisfied with myself for being able to show empathy, and respect towards

    the needs and feelings of others. It would help me develop a personal commitment to service,

    and act to make a positive difference in my community.
