Unit 1: travelling for work
 Which skills need to be required to organize an event?

I think in order to be successful in organizing an event, we need to be an organized
person and have to be able to pay attention to small details. Moreover, good at
communication, tracking spend and problem-solving are important skills for event
planners as well. Besides, it will be a plus if we are good at telling jokes and can cook
for a lot of people.
 Have you ever joined an event? Which events did you join? Do you think that
an event should be prepared?
Yes, last weekend, I joined a large public event taking place on Ho Guom pedestrian
street in the city center. The event is a music festival to celebrate the upcoming
Seagames 31.
Definitely yes. We must prepare the event well to decide the date and location,
estimate the cost of the event, advertise the event, prepare the sound and light system
and prepare the security for the event, and so on. In fact, the preparation is the most
important to the success of the event.
Unit 2: Bussiness location

 What is good or bad about the location where you live, work or study?
I’m now living and studying in Hanoi, which is the capital of my country – Vietnam.
It’s a very nice place to live. There are a lot of shopping malls, skyscrapers, hospitals,
schools, universitys and so on. Moreover, there are also big events such as sporting
events, concerts and festivals happen in Hanoi. Besides, here you can get more job
opportunities.
But the only thing I don't like about Hanoi is the heavy air pollution. This will affect
the health and quality of life of the people here.
 Which factors are most important to you when choosing a place to live, work
or study?
I think the most important factor when choosing a place to live is job oppotunities. A
place with many job opportunities will be very good for our future.
 Have you ever been to a very interesting place?
A very interesting place that i have visited is HaLong Bay. It is located in Quang Ninh
province which is in the north of Vietnam. Ha Long Bay has many beautiful caves
and islands. We play many water sports here like swimming, sailing and windsurfing.
Moreover, the taste of local food and the seafood there was simply incredible.
Unit 3: Retail
 How often do you eat fast food?
I sometimes eat fast food, about once a week. I only eat fast food when I can't have
time to eat at home, for example when there are classes at my university where I have
to stay past noon, I will eat fast food for lunch.
 Is fast food popular in your country? Who is the buyer?
Yes, fast food is quite popular in my country, Vietnam. I think with so many daily
pressures, many people lack the time to cook meals at home, so the ready availability
of fast food is ultra convenience. Besides, i think the taste of fast food is so good and
delicious as well. The object of buying fast food is usually students, young people or
office workers.
 How did they change the menu to suit your country?
In Vietnam, as far as I know, there is a fast food chain called McDonald's that has
changed the menu to be more suitable for the people here. It's Pho Burger - the
stimulating combination between American and Vietnamese cuisine. It is hot, juicy
beef blends perfectly with unique Vietnamese Phở sauce specially made from Phở
broth.
Unit 4: Work patterns

 What is your job?
I’m a student at FTU at the moment but at the same time, I'm also working as a
salesperson for a French language center.
 What problems do you have in your job?
I think the difficulty I have in my job is that it takes up too much of my time. As a
student, I need to balance study time and work time. Luckily, next week, i will reduce
my working time.
 Do you prefer to work individually or in groups? Why?
I think that both independent work and teamwork have their benefits. But for me, I
truly love being a part of a team where I can brainstorm with my teammates to find
the best methods for completing projects. Moreover, working as a team allowed us to
complete many aspects of the project through group collaboration and integrating
solutions from everyone's unique perspectives and talents. Besides, I find that my
teammates keep me motivated to reach goals and excite me about new ideas.
Unit 5: Money
 Do you think money is important?
Yes, in my opinion money is so important because it provides options for me to live a
better life that I choose. Having money and being comfortable with finances also
gives me freedom to do what I want, when I want and where I want. And in particular,
money matters because you can provide your family with better education
opportunities, better healthcare, and a better start in life.
 Are you willing to lend money to your friends and family?
I think I'm willing to lend money to my family or close friends. But before lending
money, i will ask what the money is for, i think as a lender, I have every right to know
where the money is going. And more importantly I will lend based on my financial
ability.
Unit 6: Teamwork
 Do you think people like working in group?
Yes, I think most people like teamwork. It allows you to brainstorm with your
teammates to find the best methods for completing the projects. Working as a team
allowed us to complete many aspects of the project through group collaboration and
integrating solutions from everyone's unique perspectives and talents. Besides, I find
that our teammates keep us motivated to reach goals and excite me about new ideas.
 What is the most important thing for team working?
I think the most important thing for team working is mutual trust and respect.
Everyone on the team has to trust everyone else to do their jobs on time, freely share
information, and make collaborative decisions. Besides, it is important that we
understand how to communicate the expectations with each other.
 What qualities should a good leaders have?
I think being a good leader requires a lot of qualities. Perhaps the greatest quality any
leader should have is vision for the future. Equally as important as having a vision is
the ability to motivate and inspire people to engage with that vision. Moreover,
responsibility is one of the most important qualities as well. Besides, creativity,
flexibility and patience are the qualities that a true leader must have.
