26. A motorboat whose speed is 18km/h in still water. It takes 1 hour


more to go 24 km upstream than to return downstream to the same
spot. Find the speed of the stream.

A rectangular park is to be designed whose breadth is 3m less than its length. Its area is
to be 4𝑚2 more than the area of the park that has already been made in the shape of an
isosceles triangle with its base as the breadth of the rectangular park and altitude 12m.
Find its length and breadth.

32. Find the area of the shaded region shown in the given figure where

33. Find the area of the triangle whose vertices are (1, -1), (-4, 6) and (-3,-5)

34. Find the solution of the pair of linear equations by graphical method:

2𝑥 + 𝑦 = 5 and 𝑥 + 𝑦 = 4,

35. State and prove Pythagoras theorem

36. A factory produced 1100 cars in the 3rd year and 2700 cars in the 11th year.
Assuming that the production increases by fixed number every year, find the production
of cars in the 20th year and total number of cars produced in first 20 years.

OR

Karthik repays his total loan of rupees 118000 by paying every month starting with the
first instalment of Rs.1000. If he increase the instalment by Rs.100 every month what
amount will be paid by him in the 30th instalment? What
amount of loan does he still have to pay after the 30th
instalment?

37. From a point 25 m above the surface of a pond the


angle of elevation of a cloud standing constant is 30°. The
angle of depression of the reflection of the cloud is 60°.
What is the distance of the cloud from the surface of the
pond.

VI. Answer the following. 𝟏×𝟓=𝟓

38. A wooden toy is of the form of cuboid of length 50cm, breadth 18 cm and height 6cm
from which 12 hemispheres of diameter 7 cm are carved as shown in figure. Find the
volume of the toy and surface area of the top of the toy.
