The N52B30O1 engine is already known from the E92. This engine is theoretical and practical

since then has also been fitted in the E6x as the 550i/650i.
The N62B48O1 engine has been adapted in terms of the intake air
system, belt drive, oil pan and DME for use in the E70.
Also in this case, the air intake system is fixed to the engine.
A new feature of the belt drive is the linear tensioner for the ELAST
drive belt of the A/C compressor. This tensioner enables simpler
installation of the ELAST-belt while rendering special tools
unnecessary.

Cooling system

The cooling system in the E70 is based on a modular design. The


various components of the cooling module change corresponding to
the motorization, equipment configuration or whether the vehicle is a
US or ECE model.

Fuel supply system

The fuel supply system features two delivery units that are located in
each of the two tank halves.
The fuel filter and electric fuel pump make up the right-hand delivery
