At the end of the discussion, the students should be able to:

A. Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer

1. Motivation
Before we move in to our new lesson, let
us have an activity first.

2. Presentation
So today, we are going to discuss about
naming plants and their parts.
At the end of the discussion, I am
expecting that you can identify the parts of a plant
and can name different plants around.

Now, students let’s have an activity. You
will be divided into 2 groups.

You are going to have a tour in school

These are the parts of the plants:


a. The root is the plant part that grows
downward into the ground.

b. The stem is the plant part where
leaves and flower grow from. It is
usually found above the ground, but it
can also be found below the ground,
or both.
c. The leaf is the plant part that grows
from the stem. It is usually flat and
green, but could also have other
shapes and colors.
d. The flower is the most easily seen
plant part because of its color. It is
also the part that develops into a fruit.
Not all plants bear flowers and fruits.

Now you will find out if the plants that you


list in the activity have the same parts as what
we’ve discuss.
Now go to your group, look for the plant
that you list and observe the different parts of each
plant.
I’ll give you again a separate sheet and
check in the column below of plant part present.
