BIBLE STUDY

HOSTING THE HOLY

SPIRIT

* TWELVE BLESSINGS OF PSALM 23*

1st Blessing
The Lord “IS”

 “The Lord IS” means “ever present help

in times of trouble”.
 Not that He will be or was, He “IS”.
 When the presence of the Holy Spirit
comes, no matter what are your
circumstances, no matter what are your
challenges or limitations, it doesn’t
matter how you feel outside, the
presence of the Lord “IS”.
 He is a “Father”, a loving, faithful and
giving God.
2nd Blessing
My Shepherd

 Shepherd means manifested grace.

 Shepherd leads, guides, cares for and
protects the sheep.
 There is a manifested presence and glory
of God in that shepherd.
 The Lord Himself is going to be your
shepherd.
 He is not going to give you provision, He
Himself is a Provider. He is not going to
give you healing, He Himself is a Healer.
3rd Blessing
I shall not want

 When you walk in the essence of the

presence of God, you don’t chase after
the things of the world.
 When the Shepherd is with you, there is
no want. We will have no lack
whatsoever.
 No matter what challenges and
hardships you are going through right
now, turn your heart towards Him, call
upon Him.
Jeremiah 33:3 says
“Call to Me, and I will answer you,
and show you great and mighty
things, which you do not know”.
The 4th Blessing
He leads us

 He is a role model.
 He is not going to push us forward and
walk behind us but He is going to lead us.
 We have got to seek Him. Keep your
eyes on Him.
 You have got to put your eyes on things
above.
 Your mind is going to think His ways not
our ways.
 We need to watch Him and do what He
does.
 Yeshua followed the steps that God
ordained for Him and His disciples
followed after Him. He is a role model of
Shepherd.
 He will lead us.
 When He is going to lead us, we are
going to see only rest. We are going to
walk in rest.
 Adam fellowshipped with the Holy Spirit
in the Garden of Eden and he had rest.
God did everything for him.
The 5th Blessing
Beside the living waters

 Still waters means living waters.

 If you drink any other water, you will be
thirsty again but He is living water that
means there is going to be life,
effortless success which means ‘God’s
best for me’, endless joy, perfect peace
and eternal rest.
 When He leads you, you trust in Him,
you rest in Him.
 When He leads you, the battle is not
ours the battle is His. The enemy has to
confront Him first and so you and I are
hidden behind Him.
 He is our Righteousness and our Shield.
 He is our everything.
The 6th Blessing
He restores my soul

 He is going to restore, restoration of His

glory. Glory is His presence, all that God
is, all that God has, He is the source of
all good things.
 He is going to restore His presence, His
joy, His blessings.
Zephaniah 3:20 says
“I restore your fortunes before your
very eyes” says the Lord.
 The verse above says, God will restore
what the enemy has robbed and will
give you a new name, a name of
distinction.
 He will restore His glory and that glory
will be such glory that He’s preparing a
table for you. A table of providence, a
table of healing, a table of life, a table
of goodness which means provision,
physical, spiritual, emotional and
financial. Possible and impossible
needs, today’s needs and tomorrow’s
needs.
 When you walk in that confidence,
authority and freedom, say “God You
are my shepherd, I will not lack
anything”. When you begin to declare
this everyday, not only is He restoring
but you will see the table of provision.

The 8th Blessing

He prepares a table before
me before my enemies

 All those who ridiculed you, harmed

you, prayed against you, cursed or
judged you, God is saying before their
eyes He is going to prepare a table.
 When they look at you they will not
have any reason, they will only
celebrate and rejoice. They will say
“God’s hands are upon you. You are
God’s favored one. You are a well-
watered garden”.
 If God before us who can be against us.
 God will turn the hearts of your
enemies and they will become your
friends.
 There will be so much of God’s grace
upon you.
 God is going to display His lavishness,
His grace upon you so much, when you
confront those enemies, you will not be
proud or have arrogance of blessing and
prosperity, you will not have any of
those things that the world shows. You
will have humility and grace. You will
release. Freely you receive freely you
give.
 You will become a transformer. You will
not keep to yourself the blessing that
God is blessing you with.
 A tree that is planted beside the water
never eats its own fruit but always gives
to others and shares. Whenever the
tree begins to release, that fruitful tree
is becoming a dense forest.

The 9th Blessing

He anoints my head with
oil

 “He anoints my head with oil” means

“fullness of the Holy Spirit”.
 What happens when the fullness of the
Holy Spirit comes? Isaiah 10:27 says
“The anointing will break every yoke”.
Isaiah 10:27 says
“And it shall come to pass in that
day, that his burden shall be taken
away from off thy shoulder, and his
yoke from off thy neck, and the
yoke shall be destroyed because of
the anointing”.

Isaiah 32:15 says

“Until the spirit be poured upon us
from on high, and the wilderness
be a fruitful field, and the fruitful
field be counted for a forest.”.
 When the Holy Spirit comes upon you,
you will become an instrument of the
glory of God, birthing a movement of
the Holy Spirit. That means a season of
Him-possible. Christ in me the hope of
glory.
 We should continue to pursue the
person and the presence of the Holy
Spirit.
The 10th Blessing
My cup overflows

 From transformation you become a

transformer.
 Everyday this vessel of mine is receiving
the infilling of His grace, His power, His
joy, His life, His supernatural presence –
from infilling to overflowing.
 Your cup overflows with joy, life, peace,
righteousness, wisdom, revelation,
grace of God, favour. You are the cup.
You are the vessel.
 You are a container, a written epistle.
When people see you, they see Christ in
you.
The 11th Blessing
Surely goodness and
mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life

 I’m no more chasing after goodness, no

more chasing after mercy, they just
follow me. Because you are a God-
chaser and a God-pleaser.
 When you obey God’s Word, Holy Spirit
comes and dwells in me so wherever He
goes, you follow.
 He’s leading you beside still waters. You
are walking in rest.
 Goodness and mercy are following you,
that means the glory of God is your rear
guard.
The 12th Blessing
I will dwell in the house of
the Lord forevermore

 Your body is a temple of the Living God.

 The 12th Blessing prophetically means
“government of God”. The increase of
His government and peace, there shall
be no end.
 Your home, your life, your marriage,
your family, the call of God, the ministry
God has given you and when God calls
you home forevermore, absent in the
body, present with the Lord, you will
always be in the person and the
presence of the Holy Spirit.
 What was the prayer of Jesus. “Father
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven”. Psalm 23 is
magnified in that prayer of Yeshua.
