Unpacking Instructions

Preformer / Extruder Body

Unpacking of the equipment should take place as near to the final installation
position as possible and at as short a time possible before installation and start up. If
the consignment is fully boxed, remove the top and sides of the case. If the
consignment is part-packed for TIR trailer shipment, machine will be covered with
polythene and banded to a pallet base. Carefully remove the polythene shrink-wrap
from around the machine and any silica gel or small accessory items from inside the
wrapping.

Lifting with Single Hoist

A shackle can be fitted to the hole located in the top of the centre flange between the
control cabinet and hydraulic tank. At this point the machine body is in balance
(i.e. without the head fitted) and can be lifted to the position required.

Lifting with Double Hoist

With slings at each end of the machine as shown, ensuring that the weight is taken
up by the tie rods and the rear barrel, lift to the required position.

Caution: - Great care must be taken not to damage pipework, wiring or non
rigid panels when lifting machine, lifting gear must be capable of lifting 3000 -
4000 kg. (see chart).

Unloading by Fork Lift

If unloading of the equipment by Fork Lift Truck was contemplated the customer
must ensure that the Fork Lift Truck is large enough to adequately cope with lifting
3000 - 4000 kg. from the delivering trailer, (Note: -Standard trailer height 2.10m)
We believe that only the largest Fork Lift Trucks would be suitable for this type of
lift. Great care must be taken to ensure the machine body does not tip forward
during unloading or movement with a Fork Lift Truck.

Preformer Head
After carefully removing all packing from machine head, fit a shackle in the lifting
eye located on the top of the Head used for a single hoist lift. The Head can then be
lifted to the machine body, to locate the hinge pin (refer to installation guide). Care must
be taken not to damage any wiring or pipe work during lift. Weight of Preformer
Head is approximately 750 kg.

Extruder Head
The Extruder head does not have a lifting eye, but can be lifted by passing a rope or
covered sling through the head bore and lifting carefully to locate the Hinge Pin,
Note: It is NOT recommended that a chain even if covered be used to lift Head.
Weight of Extruder Head approximately 200 kg.

Installation Guide

Fitting the Head

u Note the position of the Washers on the Hinge Pin.
u Lift the Head and Hinge Pin to the machine body, aligning flat for Grub Screw.
u Unpack conveyor and attach to head. Wire the motor direct to the conveyor
motor lead. Wire numbers shown.
u Wire direct the cutter motor and the head connection box inside the cover with
the looms provided. Wire numbers shown.
u Grease the Hinge Pin and tighten the Grub Screw.
u Connect the head Heating Hoses.
u Fit the head opener Air Cylinder.
u Connect Hoses to Air Cylinder and to the Head according to colour code.
u Connect the Vacuum Pipe on the head.

Preparing the machine

u Open the lid for the return line filter and fill with Oil to the indicated level,
(tank capacity approximately 240 litres ECO40,40R & 60 and 260 litres
ECO60R & 80)
u Note: When the machine has been run up and down several times the hydraulic
oil in the tank (when the Ram is fully retracted) will need filling to the
maximum indicated level on the sight gauge. Total capacity of machine is listed
on page7.
Recommended examples of manufacturers oil grades: -

ESSO NUTO H 32
TEXACO RANDO HD 32
SHELL TELLUS 32
B.P. ENERGOL HLP 32
MOBIL DTE 32

Specification: - Premium hydraulic oil, 150 Type HM, ISO viscosity grade 32

u Fill the Vacuum Tank with water to the indicated level (A rust inhibitor or
soluble solution is recommended), 25 litres approximate capacity.
u Fill the Header Tank with water. This will fill the heating system and the water
jackets in the head and the barrel (use the top head hose to bleed the system).
u Check that all connections have been made.
u Switch on the Main Power Supply.
u ‘Blip’ the hydraulic switch ON and OFF and see that the hydraulic pump motor
rotates as indicated by the arrow. If the rotation is not correct change over any
two of the three wires of the main supply (at mains input to the machine).
Caution: - Damage Will Be Caused If The Pump Is Allowed To Rotate
Incorrectly.

u Check the water pump rotates as indicated by the arrows on the pump casing.
u Switch on the vacuum pump and check that the vacuum pump rotates as
indicated by the arrow on the pump motor casing.
u Set the air pressure on the machine to 5.5 bar (80 psi)
