“Pursuing quality education in the new normal”

For almost three years, the COVID-19 pandemic has been altering our lives and posing
numerous challenges. It was not only a health crisis; it also caused economic meltdowns all over
the world. Many businesses closed, and many people were laid off or became unemployed
unexpectedly. Food shortages became a problem during the global lockdown. COVID-19 is
wreaking havoc on our daily lives, including our individual, cultural, and public health. In
addition, schools in most countries were closed to prevent the virus from spreading. The
pandemic has a negative impact on educational systems, including research, academic
programs, staff professional development, and academic jobs, among other things. These
changes were felt by teachers, students, and even parents. Schools were closed as lockdowns
were implemented throughout the country. For the sake of the population's safety, educational
institutions discontinued face-to-face classes and on-campus activities. To address the
challenges posed by COVID cases around the world, schools made modules and online classes
available as a learning method during the pandemic. Because modules and online classes were
offered, modules and online classes became the new normal in education. Even if there is a
pandemic, classes still continue via modular and online classes, but most students take the
online classes rather than the modular, mostly because they live far away from school. Even
though there is a plague, it doesn’t hinder the quality of education. In some articles, it is also
explained why online classes and modular learning have advantages and disadvantages. The
disadvantage is that a student may be distracted by an app or mobile game, which may cause
them to cram most of the time and not complete their activities in time. The advantage is that
most students live far away from school, and I know that online classes can save them more
time, and they can also make their own schedules depending on their class schedules. Pursuing
quality education in a new normal, I know that the teachers gave their best to give us the
quality education that we needed. Education teaches us about our society and environment
while also honing our abilities to change them for the better. Education also assists us in
developing our own point of view and forming our own opinions on various aspects of life.
Nowadays, education is more than just acquiring knowledge. As I conclude my speech, I'd like
to leave a notable quote by Mahatma Gandhi that says, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow.
Learn as if you were to live forever." This simply means that there is no limit to the amount of
knowledge you can obtain.
