Starting the Software
If the activation status is displayed as “Not activated”, complete the activation through the
following steps:
a) Click [Export SN] to export the serial number file to the USB disk and send it to the
service rep of the manufacturer.
b) After receiving the reply from the manufacturer, click [Import License File] to import the
License file provided into the software.
After completing the above operations, confirm that the activation status of “AUT” in Fig.
2-3 is displayed as “Activated”, which means that the function has been activated and can
be enabled for use.
Double-click to enter the host computer mode selection. See Fig.2-4. Select AUT.

Emulator
Chapter 3 Emulator
Simulate the shape of the workpiece to assist the zones of the workpiece, and simulate
the specific information such as the position of the reflector inside the workpiece by
inputting the layer situation. Use Emulator to realize functions such as workpiece Emulator,
ZonalSetting, and quick setting of SoundBeam coverage to ensure that the testing
process configuration meets the requirements of testing specifications.
Simulation includes four menu functions, namely Workpiece, Zones, Probe, and
SoundBeam. See Fig. 3-1.

According to the actual workpiece, input the workpiece information to ensure more
accurate workpiece emulation.

3.2 Zones
The Zones section is divided into three parts: Zones info, ZonalSetting, and Zones
Emulator. Simulate information such as the position of the reflector inside the workpiece
through the Zones.

3.2.1 ZonalSetting
According to the condition of the internal reflector of the calibration workpiece, input the
drawing provided by the test block manufacturer, and input the initial information in the
“ZonalSetting” in advance. See Fig. 3-4.
3-2
Emulator
After completing the ZonalSetting, you can know the reflector condition of any channel in
the Zones information column, and confirm whether it is consistent with the workpiece
drawing.
The software will calculate the position of the theoretical reflector according to the
ZonalSetting, and confirm whether the specific information of each channel reflector
corresponds to the drawing through the “Zones Information Bar”. See Fig. 3-5. The switch
areas above the interface are “Fusion(US), Fusion(DS), Volumetric(US), Volumetric(DS),

If the reflector information deviates from the actual one, you can select a specific channel
to modify the “Height” and “InspY” values of the current reflector to match the actual flaw
information.

Confirm the Zones information, simulate the position of the reflector in each area in the
workpiece, and judge the accuracy of the input information again. The Emulator diagram
of workpiece Zones is shown in Fig. 3-6.
The blue point represents the Zones reflector position of Volumetric (US/DS).
According to the selected probes and wedges, parameter information such as phased
array probes, wedges, TOFD probes and wedges can be set, and remarks can be added.

3.4 SoundBeam
SoundBeam is divided into two parts, the left is the view display, and the right is the

According to the proportion of the workpiece and the probe, the Emulator diagram is
displayed, which assists the user to determine or set the parameters of different areas to
meet the requirements of SoundBeam coverage.

propagation path of FocusMode and SoundBeam. Use the hot keys , to realize
the area jump. After completing the parameter settings of all upstream/ downstream areas,

adjustment of the upstream channel are synchronized to the downstream channel; When
the downstream channel is selected, all parameters in the parameter adjustment of the
downstream channel are synchronized to the upstream channel. The interface will appear

4.2.3.1 VelCal
The SoundPath calibration is carried out by using the P/E parameters of HotPass zone,
and the velocity calibration is realized by taking the arc on the phased array calibration
block as the CalibRefPoint.
SoundPath calibration generally uses a test block with two known radius of curvature to
calibrate an angular phased array probe.
Steps:
3) Click the “Record” menu to set the value of “Record” to 1, which means to
record the echo position of CalibRefPoint1. Repeat step 2) to make the
AWaveEcho of CalibRefPoint2 pass through the center of the gate and get
the highest wave of CalibRefPoint2.
4.2.3.2 SenCal
3) Click [DelayCal] to calibrate the calibration echo. After DelayCal, the values of S,
D, R, and P are updated. See the figure below, where DelayOffset P is set to 0.
4-11
Acquisition
4) Adjust the remote control and control the probe to pass through the calibration
reflector and its adjacent upper and lower reflectors (in the same zone) to test
whether the requirements are met. (take the requirement that the adjacent
reflector is lower than the calibration reflector -6dB~-24dB as an example for
illustration). If the requirements are met, see the figure below, complete the
SenCal for this channel.
4.3 Scan
Enter the Scan interface, and after the parameters are correctly synchronized to the
instrument, allow to start the scan, click the "Start" button, and start the scan. After the
scan is completed, click the Stop button , and the software ends the scan.

5.5 CalibrationCheck
CalibrationCheck is for overall sensitivity check, calibration and parameter fine-tuning for
all channels.
Generally, the CalibrationCheck function is used in the following two situations: 1) After
completing the parameter adjustment and calibration of each channel, the calibration
check is performed before being applied to the field test. 2) After the field test for a period
of time, the sensitivity calibration is performed again according to the standard.
Note: Green indicates that the amplitude meets the applied amplitude range. Red
indicates that it does not meet the applied amplitude range.

Gear is designed on the truss, and the probe distance can be fine-tuned when it is
coordinated with the gear of the probe holder. The specific operation is to loosen the
handle on the guide slider about half a turn, then turn the knob to make the probe holder
move around, and tighten the handle again after reaching the position required by the
detection.

Maintenance
Chapter 12 Maintenance
Before performing any cleaning and maintenance, make sure that the device has
been shut down and the connecting cables have been disconnected.
Regularly clean the dust and iron filings on the surface of the protective cover to
ensure the normal use of the sockets.
Try to avoid unplugging and plugging cables at the inspection site to prevent
foreign objects such as dust, mud or iron filings from entering and causing
device damage.
The surface of the car can be cleaned with a soft cloth soaked with water and
gently wiped clean. Please air dry in time after wiping.
After using the device, please turn off the power box switch in time to avoid
excessive battery discharge and waste.
If the device is not used for a long time, it is recommended to remove the battery.
If the device is accidentally damaged, DO NOT disassemble it by yourself to
avoid secondary damage. Please contact the seller for repairs in time.
