BACKGROUND
This development plan is a draft that has been prepared after discussions with a number of key stakeholders within the club. Full consultation has not yet been completed and this information will be incorporated once the process has been finalized. The need for a structured approach to the future has become increasingly evident in the last 12 months. Implementation and regular review of an appropriate plan will ensure that Lavington Panthers Cycling Club will remain a vibrant, progressive organisation that serves the needs of all cyclists in the community for many years to come.
To the future
Currently our club is more innovative and dynamic than AWCC. Any joint initiatives that have been developed so far have been instigated by LPCC. Continue to build cooperation between AWCC and LPCC Build on our successful track program by introducing structured development program (three levels novices, intermediate and elite) Appoint a club coach Assist more people within the club to gain coaching accreditation (currently 2 Lvl 1 coaches in club) Schools programs Womens specific program (from come and try to novice to intermediate) Overcome the difficulties caused by the structure of the AlburyWodonga Development Squad o Currently this squad seems to operate more as a racing team than a true development program. o LPCC juniors must also join AWCC if they wish to be selected for the Albury Wodonga Development Squad and ride in AWCC uniform at Development Squad races. o Suggestions could be that the Development Squad becomes regionally based not club based. Also ride in a squad specific uniform that doesnt favour one particular club. Implement the development plan to achieve our vision.
The Lavington Panthers Cycling Club Caters for various ages of riders: Senior / Elite Under 19
Competitors Those who take human resources , time and money that could be utilized in achieving our goals Resources What we have to work with.
The plan then focuses on a SWOT analysis, reviewing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the Club. The plan then identifies 4 major objectives of the Club and what actions or operational objectives have to be achieved to attain these goals. This strategic document is then supported by a 3 year rolling plan that serves as a tool to achieve the clubs goals in the next 3 years.
