Human beings are becoming slaves of modern technology (technology slavery)

In everything we do, humans rely on machines. However, some people believe that these

circumstances are causing people to become slaves of today’s technology. To begin with

technology is the use of science (the use of the scientific method and material) to achieve a

purpose or resolve a problem. It may be characterized as a collection of knowledge used to

produce tools, develop skills, and extract or gather resources. In other words, applying scientific

advancements for the good of humanity. The sophistication of technological innovation is always

increasing. Since practically everyone can access it, it plays a big role in modern society.

Machines are essential to human life in every way. Some people believe that humans are

becoming the slaves of modern technology as a result of these circumstances.

I agree with their views. Have you observed how people behave today? If you had, you

would have noticed how inadequately we operate, particularly without technology. We can no

longer be more than a second away from technology since it has taken over so much of our lives.

We have grown too dependent on it; if it were taken away from us, we would perish quickly.

Even while many people believe that technology is benefiting us in many ways, if you take a

closer look you would see that it really is not. People are unaware of when to reduce or hold off

on using it. Even if technology has benefited us, it has also separated us from the real world. As a

result, before technology completely replaces humans, we should all try to use it less.

In opposition to, it is unfair to claim that technology is in control of people. First of all,

technology would not exist without humans. People are the ones who generate technological

ideas and decide whether they will succeed or fail. More crucially, machines are incapable of

thinking; they can only act in accordance with instructions from humans and carry out

preprogrammed commands in their brains. Another argument is that there are still a lot of jobs
that call for human ingenuity and intellect. We hold the key to its invention and progress, which

will help to overcome the upcoming issues brought on by the misuse of technology.

From an objective viewpoint, the problem appears clear: we are dealing with something

in advanced technology, a set of tools, a structure, a mindset, a force, a power that is destroying

all parts of our existence and significantly harming the health of the planet. And, for all practical

purposes, we have no influence over it. Modern technology undoubtedly presents humanity with

a serious dilemma. According to a recent textbook, “that technology represents a problem of

major importance, requiring analysis and interpretation, needs no argument. …  It is the

controlling power of our age, affecting and shaping virtually all aspects of human existence in

this century” (Skrbina, 2010, para. 3). In relation to that Zalk (2019) stated in a Youtube video

that “We have become slaves of technology, we are in fact a today’s tool for technology and

technology companies. Whereas we should be using technology as tools for ourselves to better

our lives.” Moreover, technology also affects our behavioral characterstic. There are significant

contrasts between our behavioral traits and the potential consequences of technology, according

to psychology (Zalk, 2019). In the age of social media, the theology of "faith" and "influence" is

largely used to control young people. People are growing less conscious of their surroundings

and more reliant on virtual worlds as technology-based services become more widely available.

In the world of social media, ideas like morality and ethical principles are gradually losing

ground. I have observed more individuals taking pictures of emergency situations than truly

assisting those in need; this speaks more about the enslavement of our brains and behaviors than

anything else.

While it is true that technology has taken over the world and that these developments

have been essential for the development of humanity in many ways, we can also observe how
dependent everything is on technology. In conclusion, it is impossible to deny that today's

technology has become an integral element of daily life. The key is that everyone must ensure

that people are aware of both the positive and negative effects that technology innovation has on

daily life. However, rather than relying on it, we should utilize it fully to realize our ambitions.
