Understanding the Concepts and Principles of Community Immersion

Name: Date: FEBRUARY 21, 2022

Course & Section: BSEd MATHEMATICS – GENEROSITY Trainor:
Rating: _________

Instruction: Answer the following questions as a guide in your presentation in depicting a community you
envision. Use the format provided. (20-minute activity)

1. What makes an ideal community?

Answer:
As we know, a community is a social group whose members have a shared common interest in one
area. And to make a community ideal, it should possess unique characteristics that can help every
individual in a certain community. People should be accountable for their actions, they should know
how to care for and love one another as if they were family, they should share and be respectful when
making decisions, and they should know how to deal or interact with one another effectively. We all
know that interaction is essential for us to work and be productive together. Therefore, for me, these
things make an ideal community.

2. What is the role of each institution/community participants in the establishment of peaceful and
orderly community?
Answer:
From my perspective, community participants have various roles to play in order to have a better
community. We have different tasks that are in line with the development of the community. To
answer the question, the role of each institution participant in the establishment of a peaceful and
orderly community is to keep the peace that the community has established.

3. How do you relate each community participants with the attainment of the common vision of the
people there at?
Answer:
Community participants really have different vision to attain. However, by focusing and dealing
properly the common vision that people have, then every community participant can deal with it and
achieve more than they expect.

4. What are the aspirations/ interest do the community participants have?

Answer:
Community participants strive harder to have a better community. Everyone knows that our
community is not that perfect. That’s why community participants have aspirations or an interest in
achieving a community that everyone deserves. One of the aspirations is that the community attain
and possess unity. Unity is important to work together and achieve a better result in all endeavors
that people are engaged in. The next aspiration a community has is to achieve a better understanding
where every individual must learn from each other. In this way, it really has a good impact on the
community. Also, create a safe environment where people can have a peaceful life. Lastly, people
aim to be responsible in their actions and interact effectively. This may be the main goal of every
community. As we all know, interacting effectively is an important role that community participants
must achieve.

Instruction: Based on the activity on community building, explain what is depicted in the collage that you
have prepared in terms of the problems (issues and concerns) of the community as having to do with the
goals of the people living in the area.

Answer:

In the illustration that we can find in Unit 1, community immersion is being presented as a strategy that is
being applied to assess and deal with the minor or major problems that the community has experienced.
From what I observed, there are various issues that people face, from educational problems to different
environmental problems. We can see that people suffer every day to deal with life and live with it as if it
were what they wanted. And there are concerns and issues that we can’t avoid, such as health issues,
educational issues, safety issues, environmental issues, and some other issues that can distract us from our
lives.

Environmental problems are a major problem in one community. People encounter different kinds of
problems, like air issues, water issues, land and waste pollution. This problem also affects our health and
can cause health problems. Moreover, safety problems are also being experienced in one community. Some
situations that can affect our safety are also concerning to all people. And we also have educational issues,
where some individuals have problems in terms of their educational matters. These problems are depicted in
the illustration and must be addressed by someone for the community participant to live their life in peace
and health.

As these issues arise, plenty of individuals can’t achieve their goals as they expected. Also, these issues can
sometimes be the reason why people avoid achieving their attainment in order to be productive and better
citizens. From what I understand in this matter, these issues also cause a negative impact on the community
and those living within it. However, we have this community immersion that can help us to lessen some bad
experiences caused by something in the community where we share our common interest with people.

Worksheet 3
Understanding the Concepts and Principles of Community Immersion
(Local Initiatives to Solve Community Problems) ______________________________

Name: Date: FEBRUARY 24, 2022

Course & Section: BSEd MATHEMATICS - GENEROSITY Trainor:

Based on the identified problems, issues, and concerns under Worksheet 3, draw/sketch the relevance of
community immersion to the national development through local initiatives of NSTP (15-minute activity).
Provide an explanation of your work on the overleaf.
Answer:

Community immersion is a good strategy that helps the community address major or minor
problems. This is a great opportunity for an individual in one community to solve and face the problem that
they face. Also, community immersion is an important method for organizing work in a community’s
problems, practices, and lifestyle. The illustration above shows that the trainees help and assist kids with
their educational matters. They guide everyone to write and read for the kids to know the basic components
of education. Therefore, through their participation and involvement in the community, they will be able to
impart their learning to individuals who need it most. Also, through their exposure to the community, the
trainee’s skills, attitude, and individual knowledge gain more and improve more effectively. With
community immersion, individuals contribute something differently in the community that has a better
impact on all individuals.
