‫ َﻻ َ ُمي ﱡﺮ ِﺑـﺂﻳَـ ٍﺔ ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ َر ْﺣـ َﻤ ٌﺔ‬،‫)) َوﻗَـ ْﺪ ﻛَـﺎ َن اﻟ ﱠﻨﺒ ﱡِﻲ ﻳَـﺘَ َﻬ ﱠﺠ ُﺪ ِﰲ ﻟَـ َﻴ ِﺎﱄ َر َﻣـﻀَ ﺎ َن َوﻳَـ ْﻘ َﺮأُ اﻟْـ ُﻘ ْﺮآ َن ُﻣـ َﺮﺗﱠﻠَـ ًﺔ‬
‫اﻟﺼ َﻼ ِة َواﻟْــ ِﻘ َﺮا َء ِة َواﻟﺪﱡ َﻋــﺎ ِء‬‫ َﻓ َﻴ ْﺠــ َﻤ ُﻊ ﺑَ ْ َني ﱠ‬،َ‫َاب إِ ﱠﻻ ﺗَــ َﻌ ﱠﻮذ‬ ٌ ‫إِ ﱠﻻ َﺳــﺄَ َل َو َﻻ ﺑِــﺂﻳَــ ٍﺔ ِﻓــﻴ َﻬﺎ َﻋــﺬ‬
.‫ َواﻟﻠﱠ ُﻪ أَ ْﻋﻠَ ُﻢ‬.‫ﴩ َوﻏ ْ َِري َﻫﺎ‬ ِ ْ ‫ َو َﻫﺬَا أَﻓْﻀَ ُﻞ ْاﻷَ ْﻋ َام ِل َوأَﻛْ َﻤﻠُ َﻬﺎ ِﰲ ﻟَﻴَ ِﺎﱄ اﻟْ َﻌ‬.ِ‫َواﻟ ﱠﺘ َﻔﻜﱡﺮ‬
“The Prophet () used to perform tahajjud (night
prayers) during the nights of Ramadan, reciting the
Quran with a melodious voice. He would not pass by a
verse that talks about mercy without asking for it, nor a
verse that talks about punishment without seeking
refuge. He combined prayer, recitation, supplication,
and contemplation. This is the best and most complete
of deeds during the last ten nights of Ramadan and other
times. Allah knows best.

ِ ْ ِ‫ﻓَـ َﻜ ْﻢ َﺳـ ِﻌ َﺪ ِﰲ َﻫ ِـﺬ ِه اﻟﻠﱠﻴْـﻠَ ِﺔ أَﻗْـ َﻮا ٌم؟ َوﻛَـ ْﻢ ﻟِﻠﱠ ِﻪ ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ ِﻣـ ْﻦ َﺟـ ِﺰﻳـﻞِ اﻟْـﻔَﻀْ ﻞِ َو َو ِاﺳـﻊ‬
‫اﻹﻧْـ َﻌ ِﺎم؟‬
‫ﴪﻓُﻮ َن ِﻣــ َﻦ اﻟ ﱠﻨﺎرِ؟ ِﺣ َني أَ ْﺧــﻠ َُﺼﻮا ﻟِــ َﺮﺑﱢﻬِــ ْﻢ َوأَﻛ َ ُْرثوا ِﻣــ َﻦ اﻟﺘﱠ ْﻮﺑَــ ِﺔ‬ ِ ْ ‫َوﻛَــ ْﻢ أُ ْﻋــ ِﺘ َﻖ ِﻓــﻴ َﻬﺎ اﻟْ ُﻤ‬
‫ﴎارٍ؟ َوﻛَ ـ ْﻢ أَ ْﻏ ـ َﺪ َق َﻋ َﲆ‬ َ ْ َ‫ُﻮب ﻧ ﱢ ََري ٍة َوأ‬ ٍ ‫ـﻠﺼ ْﻔ ـ َﻮ ِة ِﻣ ـ ْﻦ ﻗُ ـﻠ‬ ‫ َوﻛَ ـ ْﻢ َﺻﻔﱠﻰ ِﻓــﻴ َﻬﺎ ﻟِـ ﱠ‬،ِ‫َو ِاﻻ ْﺳ ـ ِﺘ ْﻐﻔَﺎر‬
.ِ‫ﻗُﻠُﻮ ِﺑ ِﻬ ْﻢ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ َﻤ َﻌﺎر ِِف اﻟْ َﻌﺎﻟِﻴَ ِﺔ؟ ﻓ ََﺼﺎ ُروا ِﻣ ْﻦ ِﺧ َ َري ِة ْاﻷَﺑْ َﺮار‬
How many people were blessed in this night? How much
favor and generosity did Allah bestow upon them? How
many who wronged (their souls with disobedience) were
freed from the re while being sincere for their Lord and
increasing in repentance and seeking forgiveness? How
many of the chosen had enlightened hearts puri ed on
this night? How many high levels of understanding were
bestowed upon them, making them from the best of the
righteous?

‫ ﻓَـﺎ ْﺟـ َﻌ ْﻞ‬، ٍ‫اﻟﻠﱠ ُﻬ ﱠﻢ َو َﻣـﺎ ﻗَ َـﺴ ْﻤ َﺖ ِﰲ َﻫ ِـﺬ ِه اﻟﻠﱠﻴَ ِـﺎﱄ اﻟْـ ُﻤﺒَﺎ َرﻛَـ ِﺔ ِﻣـ ْﻦ َﺧ ْريٍ َو ِﺑ ﱟﺮ َوﻓَـﻀْ ﻞٍ َوإِ ْﺣ َـﺴﺎن‬
‫ـﺎﴏﻓْ ُﻪ َﻋ ﱠﻨﺎ ِﰲ‬ ِ ْ َ‫ﴍ َوﺑَ َـﻼ ٍء ﻓ‬ ‫ َو َﻣـﺎ ﻗَ َـﺴ ْﻤ َﺖ ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ ِﻣـ ْﻦ َ ﱟ‬، ِ‫ﻟَـ َﻨﺎ ِﻣـ ْﻨ ُﻪ أَ ْوﻓَـ َﺮ اﻟـ َﺤ ﱢﻆ َوأَﺷْ ـ َﻤ َﻞ اﻻِ ْﻣـ ِﺘ َﻨﺎن‬
‫ َوﻻ ﺗ َ ْﺤـ ُﺮ ْﻣـ َﻨﺎ َﺧ ْ َري َﻣـﺎ‬،‫ َوأَﻗْـﺒ ِْﻞ ِﺑـ ُﻘﻠُﻮ ِﺑـ َﻨﺎ إِﻟَـ ْﻴ َﻚ‬،‫ اﻟﻠﱠ ُﻬ ﱠﻢ َﺧ ﱠﲆ ِﺑـ َﻨ َﻮ ِاﺻـﻴ َﻨﺎ إِﻟَـ ْﻴ َﻚ‬، ٍ‫ﻛ ﱢُﻞ َوﻗْ ٍـﺖ َوأَ َوان‬
((.‫اﺣ ِﻤ َني‬ ِ ‫ ﻳَﺎ أَ ْر َﺣ َﻢ اﻟ ﱠﺮ‬،‫ِﴩ َﻣﺎ ِﻋ ْﻨ َﺪﻧَﺎ‬ ‫ِﻋ ْﻨ َﺪ َك ﺑ َ ﱟ‬
O Allah, whatever goodness, benevolence, grace, and
kindness You have allocated in these blessed nights,
grant us the greatest and most comprehensive share.
Whatever evil and af iction that You have allocated, turn
it away from us at all times. O Allah, turn our hearts to You
and do not deprive us of the goodness that You have
bestowed upon us. O Most Merciful of the Merciful.”

The Ideal Way to Pray in the Last Ten — Ibn

‘Uthaymīn

In his collection of written sermons, the great

contemporary scholar, Sh. Muḥammad b. Ṣāliḥ al
‘Uthaymīn said (d. 1421 h. ):2

‫ َو َوﻓﱠ َـﻖ َﻣـ ْﻦ ﺷَ ـﺎ َء ِﻣـ ْﻨ ُﻬ ْﻢ ِﻻﻏْـ ِﺘ َﻨ ِﺎم‬،‫ات‬ ِ ‫اﻟ َﺤـ ْﻤ ُﺪ ﻟِـﻠﱠ ِﻪ اﻟﱠ ِـﺬي َﻣـ ْﻦ َﻋ َﲆ ِﻋـ َﺒﺎ َد ُه مبِ َـ َﻮ ِاﺳـ َﻢ اﻟْ َﺨ ْ َري‬

‫اﻟْ َﻤ ْﺨـﻠُﻮ ِﻗ َني — َﺻ ﱠﲆ اﻟـﻠﱠ ُﻪ َﻋـﻠَﻴْ ِﻪ َو َﻋ َﲆ آﻟِـ ِﻪ َوأَ ْﺻـ َﺤﺎﺑِـ ِﻪ َواﻟـﺘﱠﺎ ِﺑ ِﻌ َني ﻟَـ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﺑِـ ِﺈ ْﺣ َـﺴﺎنٍ َﻣـ َﺪى‬
ً ِ‫ َو َﺳﻠﱠ َﻢ ﺗ َْﺴﻠ‬،‫َﺎت‬
.‫ﻴام‬ ِ ‫اﻟ ﱡﺪ ُﻫﻮ ِر َو ْاﻷَ ْوﻗ‬
Praise be to Allah, who has bestowed upon His servants
the seasons of goodness and has guided whomever He
wills among them to take advantage of these seasons by
doing good deeds, while leaving others forsaken to incur
neglect, loss, and remorse. I bear witness that there is no
god (worthy of worship) in truth but Allah alone, with no
partners, the Lord of the earth and heavens, the One
whose generosity, kindness, and blessings are vast. And I
bear witness that Muhammad, is His servant and
messenger, and is the best of all creation. May Allah
bestow His peace and blessings upon him, his family, his
companions, and all those who follow their path with
excellence throughout every era of time.

ُ ‫ أَﻳﱡـ َﻬﺎ اﻟـ ﱠﻨ‬:‫أَ َﻣـﺎ ﺑَـ ْﻌ ُﺪ‬

‫ َوا ْﻏـﺘَ ِﻨ ُﻤﻮا َﻣـ َﻮ ِاﺳـ َﻢ اﻟْ َﺨ ْ ِري ِﺑ ِﻌ َام َرﺗِـ َﻬﺎ مبِ َـﺎ ﻳُـ َﻘ ﱢﺮ ُب إِ َﱃ‬،‫ اﺗﱠـﻘُﻮا اﻟـﻠﱠ َﻪ ﺗَـ َﻌ َﺎﱃ‬،‫ﺎس‬
.‫ِﻳﻄ ُﻜ ْﻢ َوإِﺿَ ﺎ َﻋ ِﺘ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬ ِ ‫ ﻓ ََﺴﺘَ ْﻨ ِﺪ ُﻣﻮ َن َﻋ َﲆ ﺗ َ ْﻔﺮ‬،‫اﻹﺿَ ﺎ َﻋ ِﺔ‬ ِ ْ ‫ِﻳﻂ َو‬ ِ ‫ َوا ْﺣ َﺬ ُروا ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟﺘﱠ ْﻔﺮ‬،‫َرﺑﱢ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬
To proceed: O people, fear Allah the Almighty (), and
seize the bene t of the seasons of goodness by doing
deeds that bring you closer to your Lord. Beware of
neglecting and wasting (the opportunity), for you will
suffer regret from it.

‫ ﻓَـ ِﻔﻲ أَ ﱢي َوﻗْ ٍـﺖ ﻳَـ ْﺮﺑَ ُـﺢ؟ َو َﻣـ ْﻦ ﻟَـ ْﻢ ﻳُـ ِﻨ ْﺐ ِﻓـﻴ ِﻪ‬،‫إِ ْﺧـ َﻮ ِاين َﻣـ ْﻦ ﻟَـ ْﻢ ﻳَـ ْﺮﺑَ ْـﺢ ِﰲ َﻫـﺬَا اﻟﺸﱠ ْﻬـ ِﺮ اﻟْـ َﻜ ِﺮﻳ ِـﻢ‬
‫ ﻓَـ ِﻔﻲ أَ ﱢي‬،‫ات‬ ِ ‫ﻴﺐ َوﻳَ ْـﺼﻠ ُُﺢ؟ َو َﻣـ ْﻦ ﻟَـ ْﻢ ﻳَـ َﺰ ْل ُﻣـﺘَﻘَﺎ ِﻋـ ًﺪا َﻋـﻦِ اﻟْ َﺨ ْ َري‬ ُ ‫ ﻓَـ ِﻔﻲ أَ ﱢي َوﻗْ ٍـﺖ ﻳُـ ِﻨ‬،‫َﻣـ ْﻮ َﻻ ُه‬
‫ َوﻳُ ْﻔﻠِ ُﺢ؟‬،‫اﻻ ْﺳ ِﺘﻘَﺎ َﻣ ُﺔ‬
ِ ْ ‫َوﻗ ٍْﺖ ﺗ َ ْﺤ ُﺼ ُﻞ ﻟَ ُﻪ‬
Brothers and sisters, if one did not pro t in this noble
month, then when will they pro t? If one does not turn in
devotion to your Lord in this month, then when will you
turn in devotion and be righteous? Whoever sits dormant
from doing good deeds, when will they ever attain
steadfastness and success?

‫ُﻮﺳـ ُﻜ ْﻢ َﻋ ﱠام ِﻓـﻴ ِﻪ‬

َ ‫ َوا ْﺣـ َﻔﻈُﻮا ﻧُـﻔ‬،‫ﻓَـ َﺒﺎ ِد ُروا ﻳَـ ْﺮ َﺣـ ُﻤ ُﻜ ُﻢ اﻟـﻠﱠ ُﻪ ﻓُـ َﺮ َص َﻫـﺬَا اﻟﺸﱠ ْﻬـ ِﺮ ﻗَـ ْﺒ َﻞ ﻓَـ َﻮاﺗِـ َﻬﺎ‬
‫ـﺖ‬ْ َ‫ َوﺷَ ـﺎ ِرﻓ‬،‫ أَﻻَ َوإِ ﱠن ﺷَ ْﻬـ َﺮﻛُـ ُﻢ اﻟْـ َﻜ ِﺮﻳـ َﻢ ﻗَـ ْﺪ أَ َﺧـ َﺬ ِﺑـﺎﻟـ ﱠﻨﻘ ِْﺺ َو ِاﻻﺿْ ـ ِﻤ َﺤ َﻼ ِل‬،‫ﺷَ ـﻘَﺎ ُؤ َﻫـﺎ َو َﻫ َـﻼﻛُـ َﻬﺎ‬
،‫ َوأَﻳﱠﺎ ُﻣ ُﻪ اﻟﺜﱠ ِﻤﻴ َﻨ ُﺔ َﻋ َﲆ ْاﻻﻧْ ِﺘ َﻬﺎ ِء َواﻟ ﱠﺰ َوا ِل‬،‫ﻟَ َﻴﺎﻟِﻴ ِﻪ‬
So hurry, may Allah have mercy on you, and seize the
opportunities of this month before they slip away. Protect
your souls f rom what leads to their misery and
destruction, as your noble month is dwindling away and
its precious days and nights are coming to a conclusion
and end.

‫ﻓَـﺘَ َﺪا َرﻛُـﻮا أَﻳﱡـ َﻬﺎ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺴـﻠِ ُﻤﻮ َن َﻣـﺎ ﺑَـ ِﻘ َﻲ ِﻣـ ْﻨ ُﻪ ِﺑ َـﺼﺎﻟِـ ِﺢ ْاﻷَ ْﻋ َام ِل‪َ ،‬وﺑَـﺎ ِد ُروا ِﺑـﺎﻟْـﺘﱠ ْﻮﺑَـ ِﺔ ِﻣـ ْﻦ ُذﻧُـﻮ ِﺑـ ُﻜ ْﻢ‬
‫ﻟِ ِﺬي اﻟْ َﻌﻈَ َﻤ ِﺔ َواﻟْ َﺠ َﻼ ِل‪،‬‬
‫‪O Muslims, take advantage of what is left of it with‬‬
‫‪righteous deeds, and rush to repent from your sins‬‬
‫‪sincerely for the possessor of all Greatness and Majesty.‬‬

‫َوا ْﻋـﻠَ ُﻤﻮا أَ ﱠن ْاﻷَ ْﻋ َام َل ِﺑـﺎﻟْـ َﺨ َﻮاﺗِ ِـﻴﻢ‪ ،‬ﻓَـﺄَ ْﺣ ِـﺴ ُﻨﻮا اﻟْ ِـﺨﺘَﺎ َم ‪ ،‬ﻟَـ َﻘ ْﺪ َﻣ َﴣ ِﻣـ ْﻦ َﻫـﺬَا اﻟﺸﱠ ْﻬـ ِﺮ اﻟْـ َﻜ ِﺮﻳ ِـﻢ‬
‫ﴩ اﻟْـ َﺤ َﺴﺎنِ ‪ ،‬ﻓَـﺎﻏْـﺘَ ِﻨ ُﻤﻮ َﻫـﺎ ﺑِـﺎﻟْـ َﻌ َﺰاﺋِ ِـﻢ ﱠ‬
‫اﻟـﺼﺎ ِدﻗَـ ِﺔ‪،‬‬ ‫ـﺖ اﻟْ َﻌ ْ ِ‬ ‫اﻟـﺜﱡﻠْﺜَﺎنِ ‪َ ،‬وﺑَـ ِﻘ َﻲ ِﻣـ ْﻨ ُﻪ اﻟـﺜﱡﻠُﺚُ َوﻗْ ُ‬
‫اﻹ ْﺣ َﺴﺎنِ ‪،‬‬ ‫وف َو ْ ِ‬ ‫َوﺑَ ْﺬ ِل اﻟْ َﻤ ْﻌ ُﺮ ِ‬
‫‪And know that deeds are judged by their endings, so‬‬
‫‪make your endings good. Two-thirds of this noble month‬‬
‫‪have passed, and one-third remains, including the‬‬
‫‪blessed last ten. Seize them with sincere determination,‬‬
‫‪kindness, and excellence (in worship and treatment of‬‬
‫‪others).‬‬

‫ـﺎﺿ ِﻌ َني َوﻟِ ِ ﱢﱪ ِه َو َﺧ ْ َرياﺗِـ ِﻪ َرا ِﺟ َني َو ُﻣـ َﺆ ﱢﻣﻠِ َني‪َ ،‬و ِﻣـ ْﻦ َﻋـﺬَاﺑِـ ِﻪ‬
‫َوﻗُـﻮ ُﻣـﻮا ِﰲ ِدﻳَـﺎﺟِـﻴ َﻬﺎ ﻟِـ َﺮﺑﱢـ ُﻜ ْﻢ َﺧ ِ‬
‫َو ِﻋﻘَﺎ ِﺑ ِﻪ ُﻣ ْﺴﺘَ ِﺠريِﻳ َﻦ ُﻣ ْﺴﺘَ ِﻌ ِﻴﺬﻳ َﻦ‪ ،‬ﻓَ ِﺈﻧﱠ ُﻪ ‪ -‬ﺗ َ َﻌ َﺎﱃ ‪ -‬أَﻛْ َﺮ َم ْاﻷَﻛْ َﺮ ِﻣ َني َوأَ ْر َﺣ َﻢ اﻟ ﱠﺮ ِ‬
‫اﺣ ِﻤ َني‪،‬‬
‫‪And stand in prayer at night to your Lord with humility‬‬
‫‪and hope, expectant of His mercy and seeking refuge and‬‬
‫‪protection from His torment and punishment. Indeed, He‬‬
‫‪is the Most Generous and the Most Merciful.‬‬

‫ِﻳـﺐ أُﺟِ ُ‬
‫ـﻴﺐ َد ْﻋـ َﻮ َة اﻟـﺪﱠ اعِ إِ َذا‬ ‫ُﻮل‪َ } :‬و ِإ َذا َﺳـﺄَ َﻟـﻚَ ِﻋـ َﺒﺎ ِدي َﻋ ﱢﻨﻲ ﻓَـﺈِ ﱢين َﻗـﺮ ٌ‬ ‫َو ُﻫـ َﻮ اﻟ ِﱠـﺬي ﻳَـﻘ ُ‬
‫َد َﻋـﺎنِ َﻓﻠْ َﻴ ْﺴـ َﺘﺠِ ﻴ ُﺒﻮا ِﱄ َوﻟْـ ُﻴ ْﺆ ِﻣـ ُﻨﻮا ِيب ﻟَـ َﻌﻠﱠ ُﻬ ْﻢ ﻳَـ ْﺮﺷُ ـﺪُ ونَ { ]اﻟـﺒَ َﻘ َﺮة‪َ [186 :‬و ُﻫـ َﻮ اﻟﱠ ِـﺬي ﻳَـ ْﻨﺰ ُِل‬
‫اﻟﺴ َام ِء اﻟـ ﱡﺪﻧْـ َﻴﺎ ِﺣ َني ﻳَـ ْﺒﻘَﻰ ﺛ ُ ـﻠْﺚُ اﻟـﻠﱠ ْﻴﻞِ ْاﻵ ِﺧـﺮِ‪ ،‬ﻓَـ َﻴ ْﻌﺮ ُِض َﻋ َﲆ ِﻋـ َﺒﺎ ِد ِه اﻟْـ ُﺠﻮ َد‬

َ ‫ـﻮين ﻓَـﺄَ ْﺳـﺘَﺠ‬ ُ ‫َواﻟْـ َﻜ َﺮ َم َواﻟْـ ُﻐ ْﻔ َﺮا َن ﻳَـﻘ‬
ِ ‫ " َﻣـ ْﻦ ﻳَـ ْﺪ ُﻋ‬:‫ُﻮل‬
"‫ﻳَ ْﺴﺘَ ْﻐ ِﻔ ُﺮ ِين ﻓَﺄَ ْﻏ ِﻔ َﺮ ﻟَ ُﻪ؟‬
And it is He who says: "And when My servants ask you,
[O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I
respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he
calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by
obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly]
guided.”3

‫ َوﻳـُ َﻘ ﱠﺪ ُر ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ َﻣـﺎ‬،‫ﴩ ﻟـَﻴْﻠَ ُﺔ اﻟـْ َﻘ ْﺪ ِر اﻟـْ ُﻤﺒَﺎ َرﻛَـ ُﺔ اﻟـﺘﱢﻲ ﻳـُ ْﻔ َﺮ ُق ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ ﻛُ ﱡـﻞ أَ ْﻣـ ٍﺮ َﺣـ ِﻜﻴ ٌﻢ‬
ِ ْ ‫َو ِﰲ َﻫـﺬَا اﻟْ َﻌ‬
،‫اﻟﺴ َﻨ ِﺔ ِﺑ ِﺈذْنِ اﻟْ َﻌﺰِﻳ ِﺰ اﻟْ َﻌﻠِ ِﻴﻢ اﻟْ َﺤ ِﻜ ِﻴﻢ‬ ‫ﻳَﻜُﻮ ُن ِﰲ ﺗِﻠ َْﻚ ﱠ‬
In these ten days is the blessed Night of Decree, in which
every wise matter is decreed and every divine decree is
ordained for the year by the permission of the Almighty,
All-Knowing, All-Wise.

‫ َﻣـ ْﻦ ﻗَـﺎ َﻣـ َﻬﺎ‬،‫ َوﺗَﻜ ُ ُْرث ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ اﻟْ َﺨ ْ َرياتُ َواﻟْـ َﻤ َﺼﺎﻟِ ُـﺢ َواﻟ ﱢﻨ َﻌ َام ُء‬،‫اﻟﺴ َام ِء‬
‫ﺗَـ ْﻨﺰ ُِل ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ اﻟْـ َﻤ َﻼﺋِـ َﻜ ُﺔ ِﻣـ َﻦ ﱠ‬
‫ َو ُﺣـ ِﺮ َم َﺧ ْ َري َﻫﺎ ﻓَـ ُﻬ َﻮ‬،‫ َو َﻣـ ْﻦ ﻓَـ ﱠﺮ َط ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ‬،‫ـﻮب‬ِ ُ‫إِميَـﺎﻧًـﺎ َوا ْﺣـ ِﺘ َﺴﺎﺑًـﺎ ُﻏـ ِﻔ َﺮ ﻟَـ ُﻪ َﻣـﺎ ﺗَـ َﻘ ﱠﺪ َم ِﻣـ َﻦ اﻟـ ﱡﺬﻧ‬
،‫اﻟْ َﻤﻠُﻮ ُم اﻟْ َﻤ ْﺤ ُﺮو ُم‬
On that night, the angels descend from the heavens,
and goodness, bene ts, and blessings abound. Whoever
stands in prayer on that night with faith and seeking
reward, their previous sins will be forgiven. But whoever
neglects it or misses its goodness will be the
blameworthy and deprived one.

‫ﺎس ِﰲ َﺟـ ِﻤﻴﻊِ ﻟَـ َﻴ ِﺎﱄ‬ ِ ْ ‫أَﺑْـ َﻬ َﻤ َﻬﺎ اﻟـﻠﱠ ُﻪ ﺗ َـ َﻌ َﺎﱃ ِﰲ َﻫ ِـﺬ ِه اﻟْ َﻌ‬
ُ ‫ ﻓَـﻠَ ْﻢ ﻳُﺒَ ﱢ ْني َﻋـﻴْ َﻨ َﻬﺎ ﻟِـﻴَﺘَ َﺰ ﱠو َد اﻟـ ﱠﻨ‬،‫ﴩ‬
‫ات ِﻣـ َﻦ‬ ِ ْ ‫ﴩ ِﻣـ َﻦ اﻟﺘﱠ ْﻬ ُﺠ ِـﺪ َواﻟْـ ِﻘ َﺮا َء ِة َو‬
ِ ‫ َوﻟِ َﻴﺘَ َﺒ ﱠ َني ِﺑـ َﺬﻟِ َـﻚ اﻟ ﱠﻨ ِﺸـﻴ ُﻂ ِﰲ ﻃَـﻠ َِﺐ اﻟْ َﺨ ْ َري‬، ِ‫اﻹ ْﺣ َـﺴﺎن‬ ِ ْ ‫اﻟْ َﻌ‬
، ِ‫اﻟْﻜ َْﺴ َﻼن‬
Allah has concealed the exact time of this night within
these ten, so that people may equip themselves with
goodness and worship throughout all of them, and so
that the diligent may distinguish themselves from the
lazy.

‫ َوﻟَـ ْﻮ‬،‫ﴫ أَﻛ َ ُْرث ُﻫ ْﻢ َﻋ َﲆ ِﻗـ َﻴ ِﺎم ﺗِـﻠ َْﻚ اﻟـﻠﱠ ْﻴﻠَ ِﺔ ُدو َن َﻣـﺎ ِﺳـ َﻮا َﻫـﺎ‬
َ َ َ‫ﺎس ﻟَـ ْﻮ َﻋـﻠِ ُﻤﻮا َﻋـ ْﻴ َﻨ َﻬﺎ َﻻﻗْﺘ‬
َ ‫ﻓَـ ِﺈ ﱠن اﻟـ ﱠﻨ‬
،‫َﻋﻠِ ُﻤﻮا َﻋ ْﻴ َﻨ َﻬﺎ َﻣﺎ َﺣ َﺼ َﻞ ﻛ ََام ُل ْاﻻ ْﻣ ِﺘ َﺤﺎنِ ِﰲ ُﻋﻠُ ﱢﻮ اﻟْ ِﻬ ﱠﻤ ِﺔ َوأَ ْدﻧَﺎ َﻫﺎ‬
If people knew the exact date, most of them would only
stand in prayer on that night and neglect the other
nights of the ten. If they knew exactly when it would be,
the perfect test of who has high and low and ambition
would not occur.

ِ ‫ َو ْاﺳـﺄَﻟُـﻮا اﻟـﻠﱠ َﻪ ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ اﻟْـ َﻐ ِﻨﻴ َﻤ َﺔ ِﻣـ َﻦ اﻟ ِ ﱢْﱪ َواﻟْ َﺨ ْ َري‬،‫ﻓَـﺎﻃْـﻠُﺒُﻮ َﻫـﺎ َر ِﺣـ َﻤ ُﻜ ُﻢ اﻟـﻠﱠ ُﻪ ِﺑﺠِـ ﱟﺪ َوإِ ْﺧ َـﻼ ٍص‬
‫ات‬
،‫اﻹﻓْﻼ َِس‬ ِ ْ ‫اﻟﺴ َﻼ َﻣ َﺔ ِﻣ َﻦ‬
‫َو ﱠ‬
So seek it (the Night of Power) with sincerity and
devotion, and ask Allah in it for the gains of righteousness
and good deeds and protection from bankruptcy.

ٍ ‫ َوإِذَا َﻣـ َﺮ ْرﺗُـ ْﻢ ِﺑـﺂﻳَـ ِﺔ َو ِﻋ‬،‫ـﺎﺳـﺄَﻟُـﻮا اﻟـﻠﱠ َﻪ ِﻣـ ْﻦ ﻓَـﻀْ ﻠِ ِﻪ‬

‫ ﻓَـﺘَ َﻌ ﱠﻮذُوا‬،‫ـﻴﺪ‬ ْ َ‫ ﻓ‬،‫ﻓَـ ِﺈذَا َﻣـ َﺮ ْرﺗُـ ْﻢ ِﺑـﺂﻳَـ ِﺔ َر ْﺣـ َﻤ ٍﺔ‬
،‫ﺑِﺎﻟﻠﱠ ِﻪ ِﻣ ْﻦ َﻋﺬَا ِﺑ ِﻪ‬
And if you come across a verse of mercy, ask Allah for
His bounty. And if you come across a verse of warning,
seek refuge in Allah from His punishment.

،‫َوأَﻛ ِ ُْرثوا ِﰲ ُرﻛُﻮ ِﻋ ُﻜ ْﻢ ِﻣ ْﻦ ﺗ َ ْﻌ ِﻈ ِﻴﻢ ِذي اﻟْ َﻌﻈَ َﻤ ِﺔ َواﻟْ َﺠ َﻼ ِل‬

In your rukū’, increase in showing reverence and respect
to the One who possesses all Magni cence and Majesty

‫ ﻓَـ ِﺈ ﱠن أَﻗْـ َﺮ َب َﻣـﺎ ﻳَـﻜُﻮ ُن‬،َ‫ ﻓَـﺎ ْﺟﺘَﻬِـ ُﺪوا ِﻓـﻴ ِﻪ ﺑَـ ْﻌ َﺪ اﻟﺘﱠ ْﺴـﺒِﻴ ِﺢ ِﺑـﺎﻟـ ﱡﺪ َﻋـﺎ ِء مبِ َـﺎ ﺗ ُ ِـﺤ ﱡﺒﻮن‬،‫َوأَ ﱠﻣـﺎ اﻟ ﱡـﺴ ُﺠﻮ ُد‬
،‫اﻟْ َﻌﺒْ ُﺪ ِﻣ ْﻦ َرﺑﱢ ِﻪ َو ُﻫ َﻮ َﺳﺎ ِﺟ ٌﺪ‬
And in your prostration, supplicate with what you desire,
for the closest a servant can be to their Lord is in
prostration.

‫ْـﺴﺎنِ أَ ْن ﻳَـ ْﺪ ُﻋـ َﻮ ﻟِـ َﻨﻔ ِْﺴ ِﻪ َوﻟِـ َﻮاﻟِـ َﺪﻳْـ ِﻪ َو ُذ ﱢرﻳﱠـ ِﺘ ِﻪ َوأَﻗَـﺎ ِرﺑِـ ِﻪ َو َﻣـ ْﻦ أَ َﺣ ﱠ‬
‫ـﺐ ِﻣـ َﻦ‬ ِ ْ ِ‫َوﻳَـ ُﺠﻮ ُز ﻟ‬
َ ‫ـﻺﻧ‬
.‫اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺴﻠِ ِﻤ َني‬
It is allowed for a person to pray for themselves, their
parents, their offspring, their relatives, and Muslims who
they love.

‫ـﺐ أَ ْرﻛَـﺎ ُن اﻟ ﱠـﺼﻼَ ِة ِﻣـ َﻦ‬

َ ‫اﻟﺴ ُﺠـ َﺪﺗ ْ َِني ﻟِـﺘَﺘَ َﻨ َﺎﺳ‬ َ ‫َوأَ ِﻃـﻴﻠُﻮا اﻟْـ ِﻘ َﻴﺎ َم ﺑَـ ْﻌ َﺪ اﻟـ ﱡﺮﻛُـﻮ ِع َواﻟْ ُﺠـﻠ‬
‫ُﻮس ﺑَ ْ َني ﱡ‬
‫اﻟﺴ ُﺠﻮ ِد‬
‫ُﻮس َو ﱡ‬ ِ ‫اﻟْ ِﻘﻴَ ِﺎم َواﻟ ﱡﺮﻛُﻮ ِع َواﻟْ ُﺠﻠ‬
Extend your standing after rukū’, and the length of sitting
between the two prostrations so that the pillars of prayer

— standing, bowing, sitting, prostration — are

proportionate.

‫ ﻓَﺄَﻛ ِ ُْرثوا ِﻓﻴ ِﻪ اﻟْ َﺤ ْﻤ َﺪ َواﻟﺜﱠ َﻨﺎ َء‬،‫َواﻟْ ِﻘ َﻴﺎ ُم ﺑَ ْﻌ َﺪ اﻟ ﱡﺮﻛُﻮ ِع َﻣ َﺤ ﱡﻞ َﺣ ْﻤ ٍﺪ َوﺛ َ َﻨﺎ ٍء‬
Standing after bowing is the place of praise and
glori cation. Increase your praise and glori cation in that
position.

،‫ ﻓَﺄَﻛ ِ ُْرثوا ِﻓﻴ ِﻪ ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟ ﱡﺪ َﻋﺎ ِء‬،‫اﻟﺴ ْﺠ َﺪﺗ ْ َِني َﻣ َﺤ ﱡﻞ ُد َﻋﺎ ٍء ﺑِﺎﻟْ َﻤ ْﻐ ِﻔ َﺮ ِة َواﻟ ﱠﺮ ْﺣ َﻤ ِﺔ‬ ُ ‫َواﻟْ ُﺠﻠ‬
‫ُﻮس ﺑَ ْ َني ﱠ‬
Between the two prostrations, seek forgiveness and
mercy, making lots of du’ā (supplication).

‫َواﻓْـﺘَ ِﺘ ُﺤﻮا ِﻗـﻴَﺎ َم اﻟـﻠﱠﻴْﻞِ ِﺑـ َﺮﻛْ َﻌﺘَ ْ ِني َﺧ ِﻔﻴ َﻔﺘَ ْنيِ؛ ِﻷَ ﱠن اﻟﺸﱠ ـﻴْﻄَﺎ َن ﻳَـ ْﻌ َﻘ ُﺪ َﻋ َﲆ ﻗَـﺎ ِﻓـﻴَ ِﺔ اﻟْـ َﻌﺒْ ِﺪ إِذَا ﻧَـﺎ َم‬
‫ ﺛُـ ﱠﻢ إِذَا‬،‫ ﻓَـ ِﺈذَا ﺗَﻄَ ﱠﻬـ َﺮ اﻧْ َﺤـﻠ ِﱠﺖ اﻟـﺜﱠﺎﻧِـ َﻴ ُﺔ‬،ٌ‫ َو َذﻛَـ َﺮ اﻟـﻠﱠ َﻪ اﻧْ َﺤـﻠ ْﱠﺖ ُﻋـ ُﻘ َﺪة‬،‫ ﻓَـ ِﺈذَا ﻗَـﺎ َم‬،‫ﺛـ ََـﻼثَ ُﻋـﻘ ٍَﺪ‬
.‫َﺻ ﱠﲆ اﻧْ َﺤﻠ ِﱠﺖ اﻟﺜﱠﺎﻟِﺜَ ُﺔ‬
Begin the night prayer with two light units of prayer, as
Satan ties three knots on the servant's nape while
sleeping, and when they get up and remember Allah, the
rst knot is undone. When they perform ablution, the
second knot is undone, and when they pray, the third
knot is undone.

ِ ْ ‫ َوﻗَـ ْﺪ أَﻗَـﺎ َم‬،‫َوﻟَـ ِﻜ ْﻦ إِذَا َﺟـﺎ َء أَ َﺣـ ُﺪﻛُـ ُﻢ اﻟْ َﻤ ْﺴﺠِـ َﺪ‬
‫ َوﻟَـ ْﻮ ﻟَـ ْﻢ ﻳُـ ْﻔﺘَﺘَ ِﺢ‬،‫ ﻓَـﻠْ َﻴ ْﺪ ُﺧ ْـﻞ َﻣـ َﻌ ُﻪ‬،‫اﻹ َﻣـﺎ ُم‬
،‫اﻹ َﻣ ِﺎم أَ ْﻫ ﱡﻢ‬
ِ ْ ‫اﻟْ ِﻘ َﻴﺎ ُم ِﺑ َﺮﻛْ َﻌﺘَ ْ ِني َﺧ ِﻔﻴ َﻔﺘَ ْنيِ؛ ِﻷَ ﱠن ُﻣﺘَﺎ ِﺑ َﻌ َﺔ‬
However, if one of you enters the mosque while the imam
has already begun the prayer, even if they did not start

with the two light units, they should join in with the
imam, for following the imam is more important.

ِ‫ﺎس ﻳَـ ْﺠ َﻌ ُﻞ ﻓُـ ْﺮ َﺟـ ًﺔ ِﰲ اﻟ ﱠـﺼ ﱢﻒ ﻟِـﻠْ ُﻤ َﺆذﱢن‬ِ ‫ َو ُﻫـ َﻮ أَ ﱠن ﺑَـ ْﻌ َﺾ اﻟـ ﱠﻨ‬،‫َو ُﻫـ َﻨﺎ أَ ْﻣـ ٌﺮ ﻳَـ ْﻨ َﺒ ِﻐﻲ اﻟـﺘﱠ ْﻔﻄُ ُﻦ ﻟَـ ُﻪ‬
‫ﴩو َع َﺳـ ﱡﺪ ﻓُـ َﺮ ِج‬ ُ ْ ‫ ﻓَـ ِﺈ ﱠن اﻟْ َﻤ‬،ِ‫ﴩوع‬ُ ْ ‫ َو َﻫـﺬَا ِﺧـﻼ َُف اﻟْ َﻤ‬،‫اﻟﴩو ِع ِﰲ اﻟ ﱠـﺼﻼَ ِة‬ ُ ‫أَ ْو اﻟْـﻘَﺎرِئِ ﺑَـ ْﻌ َﺪ ﱡ‬
ُ‫ ﻓَـ ِﺈذَا َﺟـﺎ َء اﻟْـ ُﻤ َﺆ ﱢذ ُن أَ ْو اﻟْـﻘَﺎرِي ُء َد َﺧ َـﻞ َﺣـ ْﻴﺚ‬،ُ‫اﻟـﺼﻼَة‬‫ﴍ َﻋ ْﺖ ﱠ‬ ِ ُ ‫اﺻـ ِﺔ إِذَا‬
‫اﻟـﺼ ﱢﻒ َواﻟْـ ُﻤ َﺮ ﱠ‬ ‫ﱠ‬
.‫اﻟﺼ ﱡﻒ‬‫ﻳَ ْﻨﺘَﻬِﻲ ِﺑ ِﻪ ﱠ‬
Here, there is an issue that should be given attention,
which is that some people leave a gap in the row for the
caller to prayer or the Quran reciter after the prayer has
started, and this is not permissible. The gap in the rows
should be closed and straightened once the prayer starts,
and when the caller to prayer or the reciter comes, they
should enter where the row ends.

‫ }إِﻧﱠـﺎ أَﻧْـ َﺰﻟْـ َﻨﺎ ُه ِﰲ‬:ِ‫ ﻗَ َـﺎل اﻟـﻠﱠ ُﻪ ﺗـَ َﻌ َﺎﱃ ِﰲ ﻓَـﻀْ ﻞِ ﻟَـ ْﻴﻠَ ِﺔ اﻟْـ َﻘ ْﺪر‬،‫ِـﻴﻢ‬
ِ ‫أَ ُﻋـﻮ ُذ ِﺑـﺎﻟـﻠﱠ ِﻪ ِﻣـ َﻦ اﻟﺸﱠ ـ ْﻴﻄَﺎنِ اﻟـ ﱠﺮﺟ‬
‫ ﺗ َـ َﻨ ﱠﺰ ُل‬- ‫ْـﻒ ﺷَ ْﻬـ ٍﺮ‬ ِ ‫ ﻟَـﻴْﻠَ ُﺔ اﻟْـ َﻘ ْﺪ ِر َﺧ ْ ٌري ِﻣـ ْﻦ أَﻟ‬- ‫ َو َﻣـﺎ أَ ْد َر َاك َﻣـﺎ ﻟَـﻴْﻠَ ُﺔ اﻟْـ َﻘ ْﺪ ِر‬- ‫ﻟَـﻴْﻠَ ِﺔ اﻟْـ َﻘ ْﺪ ِر‬
{ِ‫ َﺳ َـﻼ ٌم ِﻫ َـﻲ َﺣـﺘﱠﻰ َﻣـﻄْﻠَﻊِ اﻟْ َﻔ ْﺠـﺮ‬- ‫وح ِﻓـﻴ َﻬﺎ ﺑِـ ِﺈذْنِ َرﺑﱢـ ِﻬ ْﻢ ِﻣـ ْﻦ ﻛ ﱢُـﻞ أَ ْﻣـ ٍﺮ‬ ُ ‫اﻟْـ َﻤ َﻼﺋِـ َﻜ ُﺔ َواﻟـ ﱡﺮ‬
‫ اﻟﺦ‬. . .‫[ ﺑﺎرك اﻟﻠﻪ ﱄ وﻟﻜﻢ ﰲ اﻟﻘﺮآن اﻟﻌﻈﻴﻢ‬5 - 1 :‫]اﻟﻘﺪر‬
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the rejected one. Allah
says in the Quran about the Night of Decree: "Indeed, We
sent the Quran down during the Night of Decree. And
what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Rūḥ (Jibrīl ) descend therein by
permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is

until the emergence of dawn." (Quran 97:1-5) May Allah

bless us and you with the great Quran.”4
