Attendance Management System (AMS) for NHAI’s AEs/IEs/Consultant

Introduction
About NHAI
National Highways Authority of India was set up by an act of the Parliament, NHAI Act, 1988
“An Act to provide for the constitution of an Authority for the development, maintenance and
management of national highways and for matter connected therewith or incidental thereto”.
It has been entrusted with National Highways Development Project, which along with other
minor projects, has vested in it 50329 kms of National Highways for development,
maintenance and management. Our objective is to ensure that all contract awards and
procurements conform to the best industry practices with regard to transparency of process,
adoption of bid criteria to ensure healthy competition in award of contracts, implementation of
projects conform to best quality requirements and the highway system is maintained to ensure
best user comfort and convenience.
Attendance Monitoring system(AMS) of NHAI for field team
NHAI is executing various projects across India and has large field force deployed for the
monitoring of the projects. In order to improve the efficiency of the system, it is important to
track the field force which is deployed including the attendance and the presence of the field
force.
NHAI has therefore decided to adopt AI based facial recognition system for attendance
monitoring of the field staff and real time location capturing feature to track the presence of
the staff in the field. It will assist the Project directors and higher officers to easily view the
presence of the staff in the field along with the attendance.
The system is linked with the data Lake system of NHAI.
In these testing Corona virus Pandemic times, AMS ensures that an employee is able to log
in and mark their attendance safely and securely using the AI based face recognition
application using the mobile apps.
AMS is offered with the following components

1. AI based system for facial recognition
2. Real time location capturing system
3. Real time data management system
4. Real time reports and dashboard generation
5. Integration with Data Lake system
How system will work
Using AMS, NHAI employees can log in to mark their attendance using the Mobile App on
their phones. AppSavy AMS will capture the employee details, date and time, location of the
employee when they log in first time for the day. Every log will be captured in the AMS to
enable management of attendance of an employee using AppSavy AMS.
Attendance monitoring system for NHAI
• Data Lake contains Mobile numbers of all employees.

• Project director shall verify all mobile numbers and correct if required in 2 days of issue
of this document
• Master data of projects like Harit path to be used, which is synchronized with data lake
• Project Director can add employees with 1 time facial registration
• Employees will be able to mark the facial recognition based attendance
• Availability of Real time location and status of employees
• Attendance history of the employees
• Availability of historical location of the employees
• Data sync with data lake (pending to be done)
App Installation & Login Process
Open Play Store and search “E-Attendance Tracker” and tap on Install button.

Steps to Login in App:
After Installation, when you open App, there are some permission which you have
to Allow for further login Process.
• Allow app to make and manage phone calls?

This allows the app to place a call in case of contact directory option provided
• Allow App to take pictures and record video?

This allow the app to capture images for Facial attendance
• Allow App to access this device’s location?

This is required to get the location of user.
• Allow App to access photos, media and files on your device?
This is required to save the location where attendance is marked.
After giving Permission, this screen will appear:

• Enter your registered/validate10 digit Mobile No. And tap on Next button.
• After tapping on ‘Next’ button, this screen will appears
• Enter the OTP which is send on your entered Mobile No. to validate.
• After Validating your Mobile No, Login screen will appears like this:

• Enter your Login Credentials shared on your official Email ID.

• If the user is login in the application first time then Registration screen will appear.
• Register on the app and then login.
• Once logged in application access will be given as per respective roles and designation.

User Roles and Responsibilities-
There will be two types of users:
1. Field Staff - User will be able to login in using the mobile numbers available in
Data lake. Their mobile number will be the login id also.
i. Mark Attendance
2. PD- NHAI PD’s shall use same mobile number as HaritPath app
i. Add user facial Data

ii. View Reports

FIRST TIME USER REGISTRATION for ATTENDANCE
First time user will need to register for facial attendance. Request for registration will be
forwarded to respective Project Director for approval. Once approved user shall mark
attendance twice a day ie Morning and evening.
Form Name: Attendance

User can use this form for marking daily attendance.

• User will select Project name

• User will click selfie for attendance
• Facial recognition based biometric attendance will be recorded
• System will capture check-in and check-out timings
• Location of attendance will also be recorded

User can use this report to view attendance.
• Real time status of the employee
• Real time location available on map
