    The Speech of Queen

    Elizabeth I was Queen of England and
    Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her
    death in 1603.She was born on September
    7, 1533, Palace of Placentia. Sometimes
    referred to as the Virgin Queen, Elizabeth
    was the last of the five monarchs of the
    House of Tudor.
    Background of the Speech:
    • The speech was delivered by Queen Elizabeth I to the
    troops of Tilbury on July 1588.

    • The famous speech delivered by Queen Elizabeth to her


    troops who were assembled to Tilbury Camp to DEFEND
    the country against a Spanish invasion.

    • In the speech, Queen Elizabeth also defends her strength


    as a female leader.

    WHAT IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF QUEEN
    ELIZABETH'S SPEECH?
    The main purpose of her speech is to assure the
    people of England that they will be victorious. She
    wants to inspire the soldiers and people to think
    that they can win the battle together. And she also
    defended her strength as a leader.

    as the 16th President of the United

    assassination in 1865.He was born
    on February 12, 1809, Larue County,
    Kentucky, United States
    Background of the Speech:
    •Abraham Lincoln delivered his second inaugural address on
    Saturday, March 4, 1865, durung his second inauguration as
    President of United States.

    •In this speech he urged the people to "bind up the nation's


    wound" caused by the Civil War.
    American Civil War
    •American Civil War began in April 12, 1861. It was
    a civil war in the United States.
    •It was fought between the United States (The
    Union or the North) and the confederacy ("The
    South")
    •The central cause of the war was the dispute
    over slavery.

    firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us
    strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the
    nation’s wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the
    battle, and for his widow, and his orphan—to do all which

    WHAT IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF ABRAHAM
    LINCOLN'S SPEECH?
    The main purpose of his speech is to bring back the
    unity again between the North and South.He wants
    to heal the wounds caused by the war and move
    toward a lasting peace.

    audience and elicits feelings that already reside in
