Okay job well done class!

Let's us now proceed to our main topic

E. ABSTRACTION

Our topic for today is all about the Parts and

functions of animals.

Let us first know the definition of animals.

Animals - is a living organism that feeds on organic

matter, typically having specialized sense organs and
nervous system and able to respond rapidly to
stimuli.

Because they are living organism too ma'am.

I have a question for you class, why do we need to
take care the animals? Because they provide us food and other stuff.

Very good

Okay, just like us humans, animals is a living

organism too. Each animals have different needs to
be able to survive and they have body parts and
functions too.

I have here a picture of two different animals.

What animal is
A fish ma'am!
this?

What are the body parts of a fish? Mouth, eye, gills, scales, fin, head and tail.
What do you think is the function of their tail?

How about the mouth? To swim ma'am!

Okay very good. To eat ma'am!

These are the body parts of a fish and its function:

Mouth - The mouth serves for taking in food; also for

the breathing current of water.

Eyes- Used for sight, fish can detect colors and see
short distance with their eyes. They use their vision
to escape predators and find food.

Gills - Gills are organs that allow fish to breathe

underwater.

Scales - A fish scale is a small rigid plate that grows

out of the skin of a fish. Fish scales have two
purposes it is for protection and locomotion.

Fin - Almost all fish have fins that they use for
swimming (locomotion), balance, stability, and
steering.

Head - The main functions of the head area are a

nervous and sensorial centre, respiration and
capturing and swallowing food.

Tail - The tail fin (called the caudal fin) is the main
source of movement for most fish

Okay do you know now the body parts of a fish and

its functions?

Now that you already know the body parts of a fish Yes ma'am!
and its functions, let's proceed to another animal
which is the frog.
Okay, what are the body parts of frog class?

Eye, mouth, head, eardrum, leg, belly and webbed

feet ma'am.
What do you think is the function of frogs webbed
feet?

For them to move faster ma'am

To jump ma'am

Okay let us know if your answers are correct, these

are the body parts of a frog and its functions:

Eye - The bulging eyes of most frogs allow them to

see in front, to the sides, and partially behind them.

Mouth - the frogs mouth traps insects to be eaten.

Head - Frogs' heads are broad and flat, with big

sockets (openings) for their large eyes.

Eardrum - A frog's eardrum, or tympanum, is on the

outside of its body just behind the eye. the
tympanum allows it to hear both in the air and below
the water

Leg - They use their hind legs mostly to propel

themselves through the water while swimming, using
their front legs to steer.

Belly - Stores food and mixes it with enzymes to

begin digestion
Webbed feet - The webbed back feet of true frogs
are used to swim by pushing back against the water
creating vortex rings.

Let us always remember that every animals have

different body parts and functions. They also have
basic needs like us humans. We need to protect
them as much as we protect ourselves.Do not harm
them.

Are we clear class?

Are you willing to protect the animals?

Yes ma'am!
Any clarifications regarding the topic?

Yes ma'am!
Okay very good!

None Ma'am!
