M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story is a biographical sports

drama film. It is based on the life of former player of Indian
national cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film
chronicles the life of Dhoni from a young age through a series
of life events.
The idea of the biopic was put forward by Dhoni's manager,
Arun Pandey, after encountering an incident at an airport
after the 2011 Cricket World Cup Final. Development began
two years later, with the consent of Dhoni. Neeraj Pandey
was later approached to helm the film while he was working
on Baby. Pandey recruited a number of people for
researching into Dhoni's background and his life events.
Dhoni eventually became a consultant on the film.
The film received the release across 61 countries. In addition
to being released in Hindi language, it was also dubbed in
Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi languages, although the
Marathi release was later cancelled due to opposition. Upon
release, the film became a critical and commercial success.
Introduction
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (born 7 July 1981) is an Indian
professional cricketer who was captain of the Indian
national cricket team. He is a right-handed wicket-keeper
batsman. He led the team to three ICC trophies including the
2007 ICC World Twenty20, 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup
and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He is considered as one
of the greatest Captains and Wicket Keeper-Batsmen of all
time. Throughout his 15 year-long international career, Dhoni
has won several awards and accolades. Dhoni took over the
ODI. In 2008, he was selected as Test Captain. His
captaincy record in this format was mixed, successfully
leading India to a series of win.
Played In
In Indian domestic cricket he played for Bihar, Jharkhand
Cricket team and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian
Premier League. He captained the side to championships in
the 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021 editions of IPL league. Also,
under his captaincy Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Won
Champions League T20 two times, in 2010 and 2014.

Birth
Dhoni was born in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His paternal village
was Lwali in Almora District of Uttarakhand. His parents
moved from Uttarakhand to Ranchi, Jharkhand for a job.
Early Days In Cricket

Previously Dhoni was the goalkeeper for his school's football
team, but after seeing his goalkeeping skills, his coach picked
him to play cricket for his school team. His exceptional
wicketkeeping skills allowed him to become the regular.
Based on his performance at club cricket, he was picked for
the Under-16 Championship, where he performed well.
Chance In International Cricket
He was recognised for his efforts in the 2003/04 season,
especially in the One Day format and was picked for the
India A squad. Continuing his good performance, he scored
back-to-back centuries. Dhoni’s performance in the series
received attention from the then Indian captain – Sourav
Ganguly
With Dhoni making a mark in the India A squad, he was
picked in the ODI squad for the Bangladesh in 2004/05.
Dhoni did not have a great start to his ODI career, and did
not score in his debut.
Dhoni in IPL
MS Dhoni became the first player to play 200 T20 matches
for Super Kings. Dhoni is at the top of the list of most
matches played in the Indian Premier League. Dhoni is also
one of the three captains to have won the Indian Premier
League twice, with CSK.
In 2016, Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS), a debuting IPL
franchise team made him captain. Dhoni played as
wicketkeeper batsman in 2017 season for RPS.
In the 2018 IPL season, CSK returned to IPL. Dhoni scored
455 runs in that season and led his side to their third IPL
title.
Records
Under Dhoni's captaincy, India topped the Test cricket
rankings for the first time, in 2009
Most not outs (84) in ODIs.
First Indian and fifth overall to hit 200 sixes in ODIs.
Dhoni holds the records of the most dismissals in an innings
(6) and career (432) by an Indian wicket-keeper.
