Drugs Education and Prevention
Activity:
Link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qugduxazBBg .
3. Do you think the drug war campaign of President Duterte enough to solve the most pressing
problem of drug addiction in the Philippines?
From my perspective, President Duterte's drug war strategy is effective but insufficient in
combating the Philippines' most serious problem: drug addiction. The Philippines' drug campaign, led
by President Rodrigo Duterte, is both ethically and legally unjust. It amounts to murder since it results
in serious and widespread abuses of human rights. Thousands of accused drug dealers and
users have been killed extrajudicially around the country as a result of the war on drugs. I believe there
are other possibilities for tackling our country's drug war problem that exist. Rather than destroying
lives, there will always be an alternative.
4. What is your insight about the movie in relation to Drug Education? What is your realization
on Drug addiction?
Drug prevention measures are more than effective when implemented before people form
potentially harmful drug beliefs. Considering drug education can start as early as elementary school,
such sessions can teach children the truth about drugs before they hear misconceptions and
falsehoods about drugs from others. Drugs can affect not only a student's cognitive growth but also
their academic performance: their capacity to memorize information, classroom attentiveness,
assignment priority, chance of attending class, and even their overall IQ. After understanding it, I
realized that we should not even try or attempt to take drugs in order to avoid becoming addicted to
those substances. As a result, we must keep a safe distance from situations or people that may lure
us into using illegal drugs. One thing is for certain: they all have negative effects.

On Mental Health
Activity:
Watch the MMK episode entitled “Colored Pencils” (Ayie’s Life Story) via
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIlHDAEmx84 . After watching the MMK episode, answer
the questions below:
3. What is the main reason of the trauma? What was the prior situation?
The trauma developed because of the abusive behavior of their father, Yman (Jeric Raval). As
a result of Ayie's family circumstances, Alps (Rita Avila) chooses to take the child under her protection.
Another factor is the society in which she was raised. Her mental condition was influenced by what
she saw and experienced.
4. What is your insight about the MMK episode in relation to Mental Health? What is your
realization about Mental Health?
After watching the short film, I realized how powerful words can be. Ayie's bipolar disorder was
caused by the constant bullying she faced at school. I was astounded at how simple words may have
such serious consequences as anxiety and despair. Finally, I believe it demonstrates how community
support may have a good impact on both the individual and the community's perception of such illness.
Simple actions like greeting and being at someone's side, letting them know they are respected and
loved, can even save lives.

the questions below:
1. Why is there a need to have comprehensive planning for disaster risk management?
Comprehensive planning is an attempt to create standards for a community's future growth.
This is an all-encompassing method to tackle the issue of a community's future growth, as the term
"comprehensive" implies. A municipality can match its future development decisions with the
overarching aim of lowering catastrophic losses by incorporating hazard mitigation into its
comprehensive plan. The majority of comprehensive plans feature a focus on ensuring the safety of
people and property while also encouraging community investment. Through proper physical and
psychological planning ahead of time, disaster preparedness has the potential to lessen the negative
effects of a disaster. In the aftermath of a natural disaster, relief and rehabilitation receive urgent
attention and prompt responses from all sides.

impact on the environment. Also, by limiting my personal waste, bringing reusable shopping
bags, watering plants, purchasing organic or environmentally friendly items, and riding a bike or
walking instead of riding vehicles that emit black smoke. In short, I will lower my carbon
footprint.
I will learn more about the solid waste management program that is methodical, thorough, and
environmentally friendly. Through the design and adaptation of the best eco-waste products. I
will gain a better understanding of proper solid waste segregation, collection, storage, treatment,
and disposal. Lastly, I will learn more about the effects of my behaviors on climatic changes and
calculate my carbon footprint to understand more about it.
I will educate my friends and others about the awareness about the recycling program to my
friends and colleagues. I'll teach them about the various things we can do to improve the care
for our surroundings, as well as how to avoid destructive and harmful practices. Allowing people
to grasp one's carbon footprint can assist in minimizing the environmental footprint of
consumption.
I will stay the course until we solve the problem of an incorrect waste management system.
Otherwise, I will stay the course until we lower the amount of carbon pollution that is abundant
in our atmosphere and causing the climate change that is already underway.

Am I Self-Aware?
Name: Cabingatan, Chloe Niña A. Prog./Yr./Sec.: BSN- 1B Date: 02/27/22 Score:
Due Date: 02/28/22
So we know that self-awareness is good, but what does it look like? How does one
practice self-awareness?
Bob at work
Bob struggles with creating a quarterly report at work, and he frequently produces subpar
results. He notices the discrepancy between his standards and performance and engages
in self-evaluation to determine where it comes from and how to improve.
He asks himself what makes the task so hard for him, and he realizes that he never seems to
have trouble doing the work that goes into the report, but he struggles with writing it up
cohesively and clearly.
Bob decides to fix the discrepancy by taking a course to improve his writing ability, having
a colleague review his report before submitting it, and creating a reusable template for
future reports, so he is sure to include all relevant information.
Without self-awareness, what would be the situation that Bob would encounter?
Explain.
Self-awareness is essential in all aspects of life because it indicates that you have a
thorough understanding of who you are as a person and how you interact with the environment
around you. Since Bob struggles with creating a quarterly report at work, he would have
continued to provide negative reports.
Monique at home
Monique is having relationship problems with her boyfriend, Luis. She thinks Luis takes her for
granted and he doesn’t tell her he loves her or share affection enough. They fight about this
frequently.
Suddenly, she realizes that she may be contributing to the problem. She looks inward and sees
that she doesn’t show Luis appreciation very often and that she overlooks the nice things he
does around the house for her and little physical touches that show his affection.
Monique considers her thought processes when Luis misses an opportunity to make her feel
loved and notes that she assumes he purposely avoids doing things that she likes. She spends
time thinking and talking with Luis about how they want to show and receive love, and they
begin to work on improving their relationship.
Bridget struggles with low self-esteem, which causes depressive symptoms. She doesn’t
feel good enough, and she doesn’t accept opportunities that come her way because of it. She
begins working with a therapist to help her build self-awareness.
The next time an opportunity comes her way, she thinks she doesn’t want to do it and initially
decides to turn it down; but, with the help of some self-awareness techniques, Bridget realizes
that she is only telling herself she doesn’t want to do it because of her fear that she won’t be
good enough.
Bridget reminds herself that she is good enough and redirects her thoughts to “what if I
succeed?” instead of “what if I fail?” She accepts the opportunity and continues to use self-
awareness and self-love to improve her chances of success.
Without self-awareness, what would be the situation that Bridget would encounter?
Explain.
Bridget would never have accepted the opportunity to grow if it hadn't been offered to
her, and she would have stayed in her comfort zone. She would not learn to respect and love
herself, which would cause her enormous grief. With the number of things, she could have done
with her abilities, she would likely have a lot of regrets.

“Unleashing the leadership within Me”
This is our fifth in a series of posts from the Book Rapper issue Authentic. It’s derived from Rob
Goffee and Gareth Jones’ book Why Should Anyone Be Led By You that discusses what it takes
to be an authentic leader.
Leadership Situations
Leadership is contextual or situational. And, it begins with being sensitive to the current
context. Here’s some situation sensing strategies for super effective leadership.
1 Individuals
As a leader you need to know your team beyond their technical competence. You’ll want to
know who they are as people. And, focus on observing the individuals that make the biggest
impact on your performance. Develop a network diagram of soft data about these individuals.
Record systematically what drives them.
2 Groups
A group is more than the sum of its members. It’sa complex social structure with its own
culture, rules and adopted behaviours. Observe any group tensions, mismatches and difficulties.
Notice the group balance between tasks (getting things done) and relationships (what holds the
team together). Map these relationships. And, remember, diverse groups outperform
homogenous ones in the long run.
3 Organization
It’s much tougher to get a sense of the whole organization because it’s impossible to see it all
at once. This is particularly important for global groups with teams in remote locations. The key
strategy is create the bigger picture from a bunch of smaller snapshots. Keep updating this.
Listen to different opinions and where possible take a first hand look to decide for yourself.
Three Skill Sets
1. Observe what’s going on – As a leader you will be presented with lots of hard data.
You need to fill the gaps with soft data built from your observations. For example, know
when morale is low or when complacency needs a kick. Learn to trust your instincts
and avoid rushing into action before fully understanding the situation.
2. Adjust your behaviour – Noticing what is happening is a waste if you’re not willing
to adapt and modify to suit what you see. It’s about being an authentic chameleon –
showing a different side of you as the situation demands. For example, know when to
create closeness or distance, leverage strengths or reveal weaknesses.
3. Change the situation – Leaders are not passive recipients of context. Your role is to
transform situations to benefit your followers and fulfil the purpose of the
organisation. For example, reframe what is going on to inspire the desired action and
response.
QUESTION 1:
Which of the three leadership contexts do you prefer? Working with individuals, groups or the
organization?
I like working with a group in the three leadership contexts. Working in a group, in my experience, may

There is really no such thing as a perfect leader. I also faced challenges as I conducted
this activity. The only big problem we encounter is the lack of financial supply. Even though this
feeding program is not that extensive, me and my team are still looking for a solution to help
carry out our plan. So all we did was ask for some donations from other people who were willing
to give. And after we gathered all the donations, we immediately bought them for the feeding

we can.
