After going through this lesson, you are expected to:

▪ Value the importance of netiquette and having a positive digital
footprint;
▪ Discuss digital issues in the Philippines in relation to online conduct.
DEFINITION OF
TERMS
⮚Digital Access
⮚ The ability to fully participate in digital society.
⮚Digital Literacy
⮚ The ability to use digital technology, communication tools or networks to locate, evaluate,
use and create information.
⮚Etiquette
⮚ Properties of conduct as established in any class or community or for any occasion.
⮚Flame War
⮚ Series of angry, critical, or disparaging comments by two or more people in an ongoing
online argument.
⮚Netiquette
⮚ Set of rules for behaving properly online.

This includes access to tools and technologies, such as

account and files from intrusion by an outside user or a
hacker.

▪ Having the right and freedom to use all types of digital
technology while using the technology in an acceptable
and appropriate manner

▪ an individual's ability to find, evaluate, and communicate
information through typing and other media on various
digital platforms

▪ is defined as electronic responsibility for actions and
deeds

▪ refers to the ability to fully participate in digital society.
This includes access to tools and technologies, such as
the internet and computers, that allow for full
participation.

COMMERCE
▪ the process of buying things online without human
intervention
▪ The difference is subtle, but if eCommerce were to be
fully automated, right from marketing and sales to
product delivery, it would be digital commerce.

COMMUNICATION
▪ theuse of online tools like email, social media
messaging and texting to reach other individuals or a
specific audience in order to share a message
DIGITAL
ETIQUETTE
▪ which pertains to electronic standards of conduct or
procedures and has to do with the process of thinking
about others when using digital devices.
