TACLIGAN

Tacligan was one of the


cabezerias in San Teodoro along
with Ylag, Bigaan and Pawican.
Such place is a coastal area where
people in precolonial period's main
source of food is fishing and
farming.

In the reigning terror brought by the Spaniards. Tacligan was the first
settlement, chosen by the locals as the best location for their fight for survival
against the many predators who frequented the area to molest and steal their
possessions. They have no choice but to lingers on the mountainous and be
fugitives in their own place.
. Before the coming of the Americans as early as February 1902, Tacligan
was heard a defeaning weapons used to blast the whole place. Houses and
properties are burned, everyone is frightened with the event and all tried to run and
hide for the safety of their own. Terrors are introduced and the properties of the
barangay were owned by them.
TACLIGAN

As soon as the legacy finished and when the American's gave the
freedom that people in the municipality and all the neighboring barangays
deserve, the Tacligan decides to build it's own community. The population
grew from 1,865 in 1990 to 2,527 in 2020, an increase of 662 people over
the course of 30 years. It has consists of eight sitio's, Centro, Masasa,
Pawikan, Puyo, Ginto, Hacienda hulo, Hacienda Aplaya, and Malakatig. This
Barangay is now headed by Enrico Arellano, the Barangay chairman after
won on the last Barangay official elections.

The natural resources of this Baranggay are the rivers,


trees and plants, farm and it has sea and farming lands
whereas most of its community members do fishing and
farming as their natural source of income and food. This
quite place in Subaan (San Teodoro) started to grew and
do some changes. They rebuilt the forests near the sea
into a beautiful and attractable beaches and resorts. From
zero up to eight beaches and vacation sites. The people in
this Barangay have what we called "bayanihan" whereas
they are helping each other to have an innovative and
peaceful environment. Barangay officials and other
community members do planting trees to remain the
essence of nature as well as keeping this Barangay
spotless and free to virus to have a healthy living
community.
TACLIGAN

Barangay Tacligan celebrates it's fiesta


every 15'th day of May. Also known feast of
San Isidro Labrador. Since 1923. During this
celebration from the beginning the traditional
way of gratitude for San Isidro Labrador was
known as "Pagoda" while San Isidro Labrador
are in the front of the parade wherein all
motor boats are decorated using farm trees
such as rice, coconut seedling, banana trees
and fishing net and bandaritas. After the
parade this baranggay is conducting Holly mass.
It has primary and secondary school called Tacligan
Elementary school and Tacligan San Teodoro National
High School extension. As time passed by the barangay
Tacligan become innovative barangay and one of the big
barangay and second to the highest paying Tax in
Municipality of San Teodoro.
The town people of this Baranggay are hospitable and generous. Through
this traditional way of living and good service of baranggay officials and
spreading love of its neighborhood this Baranggay is continuously grow and
unstoppable for being innovative.
