COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course examines the basic theory, characteristics, construction operation, and application of
rotating electrical machines. It includes the study of direct current motors, direct-current generators,
alternators, synchronous motors, polyphase induction motors, single-phase motors, and
transformers

CLO-01: Explain the construction, working principle, and equivalent diagrams of Electrical
Transformers to demonstrate technical calculations
CLO-02: Explain the construction, working principle, and equivalent diagrams of rotating DC
and AC Machines, and to demonstrate technical calculations.

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS:

Students will be able to :

1. Describe the construction, characteristics, operation, and application of A.C. and D.C.
rotating Electrical machines
2. Solve problems relating to generated voltage, terminal voltage, currents, torque, speed,
input and output power, efficiency, and voltage/speed regulation in DC and AC rotating
machines.
3. Solve problems related to voltage regulations, and equivalent diagrams of Electrical
Transformers to demonstrate technical calculations
