(1) State the main objectives of the experiment.

1)Find the permeability of air,
2) Know the magnetic field at different positions from the center of the duple
Holtzman coils.
(2) Write the equation that gives the magnetic field at any point on the principal axis z for a single
circular coil. What is it at the center of the coil?
At any given point for a single coil:

At the center of the single coil with n loops:

3) Use (2) to find the equation that gives the magnetic field at any point on the principal axis z for two
parallel Helmholtz coils. What is it at the center of the coils midway between them?
-At any point on the principle axis-z of duple coils with n loops:

-At the center of the identical duple coil separated by distance= R, with n loops:
(4) Data and results:
Measurement of the magnetic field of a single coil at its center:

For single coil:

R
μ = 2slope * 10-3 * N

μ= 1.2 * 10-6
%error = 4.5%
For paired coil :

μ = 4 ¿ 2 *slope * 10-3 * N

μ = 1.3 * 10-6
%error = 3.5 %

Now plot Bc Vs. Z:

b. Where is the B maximum?

In z = 0 (At the center of the two coils).

c. What do you conclude about the magnetic field behaviour along the longitudinal axis?

When we go far away from the center of the two coils the magnetic field is
decreasing.

When we go from right to the lift the magnetic field value increases until we reach
the center of the two coils but then if we go more to the lift the value of B is
decreased.
