2. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS

Product Description Naphthalenesulfonate - formaldehyde condensate, sodium salt

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Primary Route(s) of Exposure Ingestion, Inhalation, Skin and Eye Contact.

Hazard Beige powder. Product dust can cause irritation to the eyes and
respiratory tract. Swallowing powder may cause burns to the
gastrointestinal tract. Sulfur oxides may be released during a fire.

4. FIRST-AID MEASURES

Inhalation Remove to fresh air immediately. Apply artificial respiration if


necessary.

Ingestion Wash out mouth with water and give 200-300 ml (half a pint) of
water to drink.

Skin Contact Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash affected skin
with plenty of water or soap and water.

Eye Contact If substance has got into the eyes, immediately wash out with plenty
of water for at least 15 minutes.

Further Medical Treatment If symptoms develop, obtain medical attention.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Extinguishing Media Extinguish with foam, waterspray or dry chemical.

Fire Fighting Protective Equipment A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective
clothing should be worn in fire conditions.

Other Dike fire control water for later disposal. Disposal should be in
accordance with local, state or national legislation. See Section: 10

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal Precautions Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of dusts. Avoid
ingestion.

Environmental Precautions Do not empty into drains; dispose of this material and its container in
a safe way.

Methods for cleaning up Adsorb spillages onto sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent
material. Sweep up, place in a bag and hold for waste disposal.
Avoid raising dust. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material
pickup is complete. Fill into labelled, sealable containers.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling Avoid dust generation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid
inhalation of dusts. Avoid ingestion.

Storage Keep container tightly closed and dry. Keep in a cool place.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION

Respiratory Protection Use a NIOSH approved respirator.

Eye Protection Safety spectacles/goggles/full face shield.

Gloves Wear suitable gloves.

Other Wash thoroughly after handling. Contaminated clothing should be


thoroughly cleaned Keep away from food, drink and animal
feedingstuffs.
