Dearest colleagues,

Continuing Medical Education (CME) has been considered as a lifelong commitment for doctors
to provide the optimal care for patients. Every physician must always develop himself and
his knowledge along with medical science that always evolves and develops; especially in this
era of globalization, as well as various challenges in the new post-pandemic era.

As one of the efforts to face this challenge, we, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty
of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya - Saiful Anwar General Hospital, as one of the health and
medical education centers, especially in East Java, are proud to present Pertemuan Ilmiah
Tahunan XXII Ilmu Penyakit Dalam Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Brawijaya. This year,
we carry the theme “Adopt and Adapt toward Internal Medicine in the 5.0 Era: Ready for
the Leap?” as a picture of a world that is slowly leaving the stagnant pandemic era towards
an era of rapid development of information-technology in the world, especially in the fields
of medicine and internal medicine.

This continuing education event will be held in online and offline sessions, and will take place
at Hotel Santika Premiere Malang on 25-27th August 2023. We are holding several forms of
activities such as Scientific Symposiums, Integrated Case Discussions, Hands-On and Virtual
Workshops, Meet the Internist, Scientific Competition, and Alumni Gathering.

We really hope that this scientific activity will be one of the best choices to refresh our
knowledge of science, as well as refresh our souls with various interesting travel experiences
in city.

 Meet the Internist

Meet the Internist is our brand new session in PIT XXII IPD FKUB to provide a forum for discussion and
direct consultation of difficult medical cases in the field of Internal Medicine faced by General Practitioners
(GP) in Primary Health Care facilities or hospitals.

Detailed information, terms and conditions regarding this session are described below:
1. This event is dedicated for GP working in Primary Health Care facilities or hospitals
2. All GP can submit freely their cases to the PIT XXII IPD FKUB Committee
3. The submitted cases can be in the form of difficult cases that are encountered in daily practice in the
field of Internal Medicine, including:
a. Tropical Disease & Infection
b. Hematology Oncology
c. Endocrinology
d. Rheumatology
e. Gastroenterohepatology
f. Nephrology & Hypertension
g. Geriatric & Gerontology
h. Psychosomatic & Palliative Medicine
i. Allergy & Immunology
j. Cardiovascular
k. Pulmonology & Critical Care
4. The submitted cases will be selected by the jury to be presented online by GP him/herself and
discussed live with experts in Internal Medicine at Meet the Internist session of PIT XXII IPD FKUB.
5. GP participants whose cases are selected will receive a prize from the committee, including FREE
Registration for the Symposium + 1 Online Workshop and a Certificate of Participation in the Meet
the Internist PIT XXII IPD FKUB.
6. Cases can be submitted in Microsoft Word document format and should contain the description of the
case, including: basic information of patient, history taking, physical examination, laboratory examination
(if any), working diagnosis and treatment. (template formatted document can be downloaded at the

7. The deadline for case submission is 22nd July 2023
8. Participants can submit the cases through the Google Form at this link: https://bit.ly/MTI_2023 and

General Terms of Writing Abstract Submission Guideline
