INTRODUCTION

All praises and adorations are to Allah who made it easier for me to write this book in peace and not in
pieces. It gives me a great pleasure to write this book titled "LEARN ARABIC WITHIN A SHORT
TIME".

This book was perfectly written by [ ISMAEEL ABDULTAWAB ABUUBAYDILLAH] in ARABIC


AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE to aid the understanding of Arabic language. It contains seven short
chapters with assignment in each chapter.

We ask Allâh the exalted to make this book more beneficial to students of knowledge, bless the
author and others. AmeeenYaRobbal'A'aalameen.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ARABIC.

‫ وال يفهمان إال‬،‫ فإن فهم الكتاب والسنة فرض‬،‫ ومعرفتها فرض واجب‬،‫قال شيخ اإلسالم ابن تيمية "اللغة العربية من الدين‬
" ‫ وما ال يتم الواجب إال به فهو واجب‬،‫بفهم اللغة العربية‬

 Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah said “The Arabic language is part of the religion, and
knowing it is an obligatory act because understanding the Book and the Sunnah is an
obligation, and they can only be understood by understanding the Arabic language, and
whatever is a requisite to an obligation is itself an obligation.

‫ " تَعَلَّموا العَ َرب َّيةَ فإنَّها من دِينِكم‬: ‫ أنَّه قال‬- ‫ رضي هللا عنه‬- ‫ب‬
ِ ‫بن الخطا‬
ِ ‫عمر‬

On the authority ofU mar Ibn Al-Khattab - mayAllah - be pleased with him said that “Learn
.Arabic, for it is part of your religion

Besides, Arabic is the best language ever spoken by man. This is why Allah the most gracious
had revealed the Holy Quran with it.

Properties
1. It is used to demonstrate an object that is near.
2. It is used to demonstrate a singular masculine.
EXAMPLES
NOTE: Make sure you memorize every noun in chapter one because we'll be referring to
it as our examples here.
1. This is a man ‫هذا رجل‬
2. This is a boy ‫هذا ولد‬
3. This is a father ‫هذا أب‬
4. This is a table ‫هذا َمكت َب‬

1. They are used to make enquiry about what is unknown.
2. [ ]‫من‬is used to make enquiry about living things with sense of reasoning.
3. [ ]‫ما‬is used to make enquiry about non-living things and living things with no sense of
reasoning.

PROPERTIES
1. A pronoun represents a noun in a sentence to avoid repetition.
2. [ ]‫أنا‬is a singular first person pronoun.
3. [ ] َ‫أَ ْنت‬is a singular second person masculine pronoun.
4. [ ] َ‫أنت‬is a singular second person feminine pronoun.
5. [ ]‫ه َُو‬is a singular third person masculine pronoun.
6. [ )‫ِي‬
َ ‫ه‬is a singular third person feminine pronoun.

EXAMPLES
1. Q. Who are you and who is he? ‫َم ْن أنتَ و َم ْن ه َُو‬

َ ‫أنا أَحْ َمدُ و‬


A. I am Ahmad and he is Aliya? ‫هو َع ِلي‬

2. Q. Who are you [feminine] and who is she? ‫ِي‬ ِ ‫َم ْن أن‬

A. I am Aisha and she is my sister ‫أخني‬

A. I'm Fawwaaz and my friend is Muhammad ‫صديقي هو ُمحمد‬

1. It is used to demonstrate an object that is far.
2. It is used to demonstrate a singular masculine.

EXAMPLES
1.Is that Abbas? ‫عبَّاس‬
َ َ‫أ ذالك‬
Ans. No, that is Yaasir ‫ِسر ال ذالك يا‬

2.What is that? َ‫ما ذالك‬

Ans.That is a lift ‫صعَد‬


ْ ‫ذالكَ ِم‬
3.Is that a bed? ‫سرير ؟‬
َ َ‫أ ذالك‬
Ans.Yes, that is a bed ‫ذَالكَ الكسرير‬

4.who is that? َ‫من ذالك‬

Ans. That is a teacher ‫ذَالكَ ُمدَ ِرس‬
