Happening this weekend

Plenty of Native Americans, soldiers, horses and lots of gunsmoke awaits
those who plan on attending the 31st Annual Battle of the Little Bighorn
Reenactment which is held on the banks of the Little Bighorn River where
Sitting Bull’s Camp was between Crow Agency & Garryowen (about an hour
south of Billings). This Battle which occurred on that famous day of June 25th,
1876, has also been called Custer’s Last Stand and the Battle of the Greasy
Grass. Rachel Boese took this most awesome reenactment in and says it’s
so good she plans on taking it in again this weekend as she will take the jaunt
over there following the Colstrip Centennial Celebration which she will be
attending (not to be confused with Colstrip Days that took place in May). The
Little Bighorn Reenactment will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June
23-25, at 1:00 each day. Arrive early as bleacher seating is on a first come
basis. And don’t to forget to bring your camera — Rachel says it’s a must-see!

The Fort Peck Senior Citizens used their Memorial
Savings Fund to complete a beautification project to
hang 20 flower baskets along the main street in Fort
Peck leading to the Northeast Montana Veterans
Memorial Park. This project came together with the
help of the Senior Citizens, retired Daryl Keys, and Fort
Peck Town employees. So when you head to the Fort
Peck Summer Theatre featuring Murder on the Oriental
Express this weekend or taking in the Memorial Park —
or both — please appreciate this beautification Project.
