1. GM (HR), COE while welcoming all the participants, emphasized on the importance of
regular communication with all stakeholders. Further, he shared that to implement the
current and future business plans, continuous recruitment drives are taking place and
now, it the responsibility of all of us to assimilate this large pool of newcomers, in right
spirit and manner, into the culture of NTPC. Since quite a large number of employees are
superannuating as well, so transfer of knowledge shall also be an important task that we
need to undertake. He further emphasized that to support the business requirements,
placement and relocation of manpower is being done in planned manner for which traits
like agility and mobility are important.
2. Thereafter, upon a brief introduction of the participants, ED (HR) shared that NTPC is
diversifying in a massive way which is a good sign for the growth of the company.
However, this growth comes with certain challenges and in order to meet these challenges
we need to continuously keep adapting and learning. He shared that agility and flexibility
are the key parameters for surviving in these uncertain and challenging environments. In
the end, he said that all our issues and agendas, should be deliberated in the light of
business and organizational requirements to reach at workable solutions.
3. Shri Umesh Kumar (Chairman, NEFI) expressed the need to strengthen continuous
communication between management and NEFI at various levels and shared that this is
an effective communication strategy which has evolved over a period of time, and we
must try to adhere to it. Further, he said that the discussion should also be held in smaller
groups with NEFI to find speedy resolutions to the issues while upholding the interest of
the organization.
4. Shri GN Swain (Secretary General, NEFI) while expressing gratitude to management for
changes/initiatives such as Increase in Insurance Coverage for employees, financial
support in case of accidental death of contractors’ workers, recognition of contribution of
executives in this year’s PMS Ratings, also shared that safety has become a key parameter
in our working and NEFI would like to engage the executive fraternity in a way that safety
is not feared but appreciated. He shared his concern on delay in CPC results and
redeployment of surplus manpower from operation to maintenance/service functions
owing to increased percentage of new joinees in operation department and requested to
review the same. Further, he requested management to look into the early declaration of
CPC results and for higher promotion percentage to keep the motivation level of the
executives high.

note.
