About Us
PT. Sido Muncul Herbal and Pharmaceutical Industry Tbk. is a
traditional herbal medicine and pharmaceutical company using state-of-
the-art machines. Starting in 1940 in Yogyakarta, and managed by Mrs.
Rahmat Sulistio, Sido Muncul which was originally a home industry has
slowly developed into a large and well-known company as it is today. In 1951,
Sido Muncul was established.
Starting a business as the owner of the largest milkman named Melkrey in Ambarawa,
Semarang Regency, Central Java, this is the starting point for the business journey of a
husband and wife couple, Mr. Siem Thiam Hie (January 28, 1897 – April 12, 1976) and Mrs.
Rakhmat Sulistio (August 13, 1897 – 14). February 1983) began. In 1930, the couple started
a bakery under the name Roti Muncul. In the same year, Mrs. Rakhmat Sulistio began to mix
the cold herbal medicine which is now known as Tolak Angin. 1935, Armed with the
expertise of Mrs. Rakhmat (Go Djing Nio) in processing herbs and spices, the couple decides
to open a herbal medicine business in Yogyakarta. Sido Muncul built a modern herbal
medicine factory with an area of 30 hectares in Klepu, Bergas District, Ungaran. The
construction of the factory was marked by the laying of the first stone by Sri Sultan
Hamengkubuwono X on August 21, 1997. It produces more than 250 types of products. Our
featured products are Reject Wind, Reject Sciatica, Bima Energi Nails, Alang Sari Plus, Sido
Muncul Ginger Coffee, Bima Ginseng Coffee, Ginger Milk, Complete Herbal Medicine, and
Turmeric Acid.
Sido Muncul has 109 distributors throughout Indonesia. Various Sido Muncul superior
products have also been exported to several Southeast Asian countries. On December 18,
2013, Sido Muncul was officially listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with the issuer code
“SIDO”. Sido Muncul obtained halal certificates from the Indonesian Ulema Council for 274
products. The certificate received on March 6, 2019 is divided into four types of products,
namely Herbal Medicine, Supplements and Supplementary Ingredients, Beverages and
Beverage Ingredients and sweets.
Vision
To become a pharmaceutical, traditional medicine, health food and
beverage company, cosmetics and herbal ingredients processing that can
provide benefits to society and environment.

1. Developing products made from herbal raw materials in the form of
pharmaceutical preparations, traditional medicines, health food
drinks, and cosmetics based on rational, safe, and honest research.
2. Increasing public awareness about the importance of fostering health
through a healthy lifestyle, use of natural ingredients, and
naturopathic medicine.
3. Assisting and encouraging the government, educational institutions,
the medical world to play a greater role in research and development
of drugs and herbal remedies.

Tolak Angin passed the subchronic toxicity test (Based on research conducted by Phebe
Hendra and Fenty from the Imono Biological Laboratory, Faculty of Pharmacy, Sanata
Dharma University in collaboration with PT Industri Jamu Dan Pharmacy Sido Muncul, Tbk in
2002)
Tolak Angin has been shown to increase the percentage of peripheral T lymphocytes which
play a role in maintaining the immune system for 7 days of use. (Based on research
conducted by Edi Dharmana, Neni Susilaningsih, Noorwijayahadi from the Faculty of
Medicine, Diponegoro University in collaboration with PT Industri Jamu Dan Pharmacy Sido
Muncul Tbk, 2007)
Tolak Angin is safe and meets specifications for aflatoxin, metal contamination, and
microbial contamination tests from the PT Industri Jamu Dan Pharmacy Laboratory Sido
Muncul Tbk which is certified by KAN and ISO 17025. Tolak Angin has been certified HALAL.

Strong Distribution Network in Indonesia
Muncul Mekar, a subsidiary of Sido Muncul, cooperates with 104 sub representatives and
distributors who serve more than 135,000 wholesale and retail traders engaged in general
and modern trade in Indonesia.
Our products are already available in foreign countries. To develop the export market even
further, we have established a branch office in the Philippines and a subsidiary in Nigeria.
