Names: Morales, Matt C. Course/code: GE20

Sefuentes, Klynt Airon

Manligoy, Arnold
Score: Date: December 9, 2022

1. How did globalization affect artists’ means of selling arts?

Modern art, which includes a variety of styles like Cubism,
Expressionism, and a few kinds of abstract art, now dominates the western art
market as a result of globalization of the art market. This is the market's
largest collection of works of high quality that are stable, historical, and of
good quality.

2. What do you think are the positive and negative impacts of capitalism
on the commodity of arts?
Firstly, the advantage of impact of capitalism on the aristocratic class
was not the only segment of society that benefited from industrial capitalism.
The emergence of unions played a significant role in the rise in wages. The
abundance of inexpensive mass-produced goods also raised living standards.
As a result of this expansion, a middle class emerged, which began to attract
more and more people from the lower classes.

Lastly, the disadvantage of capitalism is that it frequently results in a

slew of undesirable externalities, like noise and air pollution. Negative
externalities are expenses borne by society rather than the externality's
creator. The communities in which a factory operates, not the company itself,
are responsible for the issues that arise when it dumps waste into a river or
releases smoke into the air.
