25. The simple interest (I) earned by a sum of money (P) over time (t, usually
in years)
given an interest rate r is expressed in the formula I = P × r × t.
Also, the original sum of money P added to the interest earned is called the
future amount F; thus, F = P+I.

For example, given $100 and an interest rate of 10%, then in 5 years' time, a simple
interest of I = P x rxt=($100)x(0.10)x(5 yrs)= $50 is earned, hence a future amount of
F=$150 is generated.

At what simple interest rate will a sum of money double itself in 5 years' time? (Give your answer
in percentage)
