I am a little nervous but at the same time anxious because I know that I am closer to being able to graduate.
Hi, full name is Mayerly Dayana Aponte Torres, but I like to be called MAYE I am 20 years old. I was born in
Machala on the sixteenth of July, Currently, I am
study law at the UTPL, and I think that is the best thing the best thing that could have happened because
before I was studying medicine but due to personal problems I couldn't continue, but currently I love my
career.
My parents are Jaime Aponte and Eugenia Torres. I have two siblings one is called Juleidy, who is an
accountant, and the other, Michelle, who is a general practitioner. All my grandparents have died but I still
have mom's mom.

A. Self-Introduction

B. Where You Live Now and Your Home Country

Since I am studying from Monday to Friday, I live here in Loja but I always traveled to Catamayo to see my
parents.
1. It is easy to meet new people where you live?
I think that the perfect answer is “yes”, but why? It is because Loja is a small city and therefore it is easier
to meet new people but it also depends on how sociable you are because if you never go out with your
friends and always stay at home it is most likely that you will never meet new people.
2. What's the best place to spend a free afternoon in your town?
For me the best place to spend a free afternoon is “Lemon Tree” it is a quiet and relaxing place where I
always go out with my friends when we have a bad day and need to recharge our batteries. Here you can
eat hamburgers, hot dogs and fries but the most incredible thing is that there is live music. So, you can go
with your band and sing or dance. It is incredible and it is not expensive, the cost is around 4 or 5 dollars.
3. Could you tell me something about the area where you grewup?
I was born in Machala but I grew up here in Loja specifically in Sauces Norte where my grandparents' house
was. It was a good moment for me because I had my whole family, my grandparents, my siblings and my
parents. I remember that at that time Sauces was a welcoming and quiet place, there were about 20
houses and a park but in the afternoon all the children played together until night and the most
remarkable thing was the way we enjoyed ourselves because there were no games like the swing , so we
played with the sand.
4. Could you describe your family home to me?
Of course, the size and distribution are simple because it is a small apartment that has three bedrooms, a
kitchen, 1 bathroom, living room and dining room, it also has an outdoor area where my mother has her
garden and at the same time it is the place where my pets are. The whole apartment is white and my
favorite place is my room because there I have a small space where I have about 5 small cactus and I
always like to be there because it gives me peace
5. What do you like about living in Loja?
The weather, as my friends used to say "I am a cold team" I studied medicine in Machala. So, I didn't get
used to the hot climate, so I'm sure that what I like most about Loja is the climate and the people, who are
usually friendly and sociable, but above all easy to get along with.
6. Tell us about a festival or celebration in Ecuador.
An example is the “Artes Vivas” here in Loja which is a local scene of performing arts and cultural events
and festivals that show various forms of artistic expression performed live in front of an audience, such as
theater, dance, music and performances. circus. I remember when it was the last festival, I could see a man
painting in the street painting the silhouette of Jesus and it was incredible

And besides that day started taking a shower and then I had to put on my makeup then I went to the
ceremony and my sister Michelle was there who is currently not here in Ecuador and it was the last
moment I could share with her and for that reason that day was also the most special for me in my life.
