ABSTRACT
The increasing number of students who are hooked on playing

online games is alarming. As such, this study was realized to address
the problem. This study assessed the online games and its relation to
academic performance of the students of Nabunturan National
Comprehensive High School. Specifically, the study investigated the
correlation between commonly played, reasons of playing online games
with academic performance utilizing Pearson r correlation analysis. A
random sample of 306 student’s respondents taken from Nabunturan
National Comprehensive High School. Correlation research design was
utilized also survey questionnaire was prepared and validated.
Percentage analysis, Mean, Standard Deviation and were used for
analyzing the data. The result showed that there is significant
relationship between online games and academic performance of the
Grade 12 Senior High School Student’s.

showers of blessings throughout our research work to complete the research
successfully. Also, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the
participants in our study the Grade 12 Senior High School of Nabunturan
National Comprehensive High School. Their time and effort to answer our
survey questionnaire.
The researcher would also like to express their sincerity gratitude to
our 3i’s adviser Ma’am Lanifer S. Ranara for her continuous support in our
research, for her patience, motivation, and immense knowledge. Her
guidance helped us through our research and writing of our thesis.
