Bloom's Taxonomy is essential because it helps educators identify achievable learning goals and develop
plans to meet them. The Bloom's Taxonomy framework allows educators to assess learning on an ongoing basis,
encouraging students to reflect on their progress.
Evangelista Elementary School organized School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) on March 30, 2023 focused on
Bloom’s and Son Krathwohl’s Taxonomy. The session was explained by Ma’am Juvy B. Zamora, a Master Teacher.
She tackled the different changes in the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy specifically its application in test
creation or construction. She explained that the revised taxonomy aimed to address the evolving needs of education,
placing a stronger emphasis on metacognition and the cognitive processes involved in learning. With clarity and
expertise, Ma’am Zamora guided the teachers through each level of the revised taxonomy, illuminating its distinct
characteristics and applications.
By embracing the different levels from Remembering level, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating
and Creating level, and their significance, teachers could not only evaluate their pupils’ understanding but also
empower them to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and creative individuals ready to face the challenges of
the world beyond the classroom.
