mention any three situations, faced by you or by an employee of any

organization, in which attitude, personality and motivation played a major role. Explain each of the situations in detail and provide solutions to handle such situations. Personality, Attitudea n d M otivation are important leadership qualities which are common to all successful leaders(be it in any field)

Attitude
JITO (jain international trading organization) I had the honor and opportunity to volunteer as a support team leader for a large jain community meet(JITO).over the span of time that i worked i encountered various situations that i feel highlighted the attitude part of my personality. ATTITUDE-an attitude is a hypothetical construct that represents an individual's degree of like or dislike for an item. Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or eventthis is often referred to as the attitude object. people can also be conflicted or ambivalent toward an object, meaning that they simultaneously possess both positive and negative attitudes toward the item in question.

SITUATION
The organizer of the event (Mr Vikram)was also the leader of the project team so he interviewed and hired me for the 30 days for JITO event as the leader of the support team, and also gave me the responsibility to hire 15 members for my team(support team). i had never organized an event of such a scale before, but was the man power for various companys during my 2 nd and 3 rd year of bcom. being a manpower for 2 year it was a easy task for me to hire 10 guys and 5 girls, briefing was not been given to us,a mail was sent regarding the various job to be done, my team reported 3 hours before the job, my team was new and inexperienced. because i was unaware of the work expected from us, it was difficult for me to assign work to my team members i gave a call to mr vikram but unfortunately his cell was switched off. i started work with a positive attitude and tried to do the best out of what little i knew.my team and i started to work little by little,i made the agenda and divided my group in two parts , the event opening was very close and the files ,tags and the registration counter was not ready.we managed to get it ready in half an hour before the event opening.i was unaware of the fact that registration forms were needed and it was a spot registration system that was being followed.however the registration forms were not provided by the management.we for no fault of ours except ignorance had to face the heat from mr vikram.my team members not very experienced in job behavior and were angry on the mistimed anger burst, however i managed to get the group in control and ready to work.i delegated the work among my team and me to manage the various tasks.the event that day named retailers was a success.

ANALYSIS
mr vikram golcha the organizer of the event was moody and mismanaged as he had a lot to do and had a very small team to handle the work.he just wanted the work to be done .he appointed new inexperienced employees, and also did not brief them about the work but expected them to know the job. i understood that mr vikram was under pressure and thus understood his anger as an expression of his frustration and focused on my job.i took this job as a learning experience and a challenge and thus faced each situation with a positive attitude.i never let emotion interfere with my work and helped keep the relationship between the management and my team healthy. i tried to learn all that i could in a short span and delegated work to my team mates who were all enthusiastic about their responsibilities. i made each person accountable for their area of work. the end result was fruitful as the event was a success. while working for this event i came to know how positive attitude influences our mind and makes things easier with the daily affair of our lifes, and negative thinking is also avoided, as i kept positive attitude in this situation i realized that it brought constructive change in my life as i was able to manage the event though i was inexperienced, positive thinking helps me to become an optimistic person and to expect the best to happen.

Situation-2 motivation
the college fest arbritrium was held by the college and we students were its managers. the fest consisted of various business activities and fun filled games. it was an inter college, 3 day fest. i was chosen by my principal as the head organizer for the event and the great deal of confidence that she showed for me motivated me to do my best and ensure that the fest is a success. the various things that i had to look into were: Setting up of different departments according to the work done i.e. managing dept. , finance dept. , etc. Selection of dept. heads for smooth functioning of the fest. Establishment of reporting relationships. Allocation of funds as required by each department. Collection of funds for the event, which included visiting the offices of our sponsors and briefing them about the event. Delegation of duties. ensuing that all the activities take place on time P reparation of the list of speakers for all the three days. Infrastructure related activities including arrangement of tents and furniture. Catering services and setting of food menus.

reparation of the list of speakers for all three days. G iving proper feedback to all the members of the organizing committee. The organizing committee had started preparations for the fest one week prior to the first day of the fest. as soon as all the things to do had been divided into proper departments all the members knew their respective work and with proper co ordination all of us successfully finished the task related to the arrangement required. the first of the fest was marked by the opening ceremony, where the chief guest cut the ribbon and the fest started. the first of the fest consisted of various activities that included: introduction to arbitrium a play world, the global village presentation of economic papers competition of business plans these activities were handled by all the member that there was no sign of panic. i being the head organizer personally ensure that all the events took place properly and timely. The second day, was the day where all the students were invited to take part in funfilled, yet knowledgeable games. the selection of the participants for these was made on the spot and due to this a large amount of students were interested to take part. the second day functioning proved to be as smooth as day 1. right from the managing team to the catering team, everyone was enjoying the work they did and i was filled with the feeling of self contentment. The last day, was the best of all the 3 days. the various activities that had taken place included: accounts quiz a competition- students got talent closing ceremony, a cultural program by the students of our college etc Thanks giving ceremony by me. The third day proved to be very well managed and organized. all the events showcased our capability of being good and innovative managers.

Analysis
I realized how motivation was an essential characteristic of a good leader. I understood that most of the volunteers did the volunteering for certificate and recognitions (dependence motivation)my main aim was to achieve my target(achievement motivation ) all in all, the event proved to be a great success. I was very happy with the work I had done. the principal was indeed very happy by our work. the way she had motivated me was the main reason behind the success story of the fest, realizing motivation was an important part of a good leader.

PERSONALITY
I recently visited a session organized by the NSUI(congress),the session was presided over by the gen secretary of congress Rahul G andhi. The event was a question and answer session where approx 1000 students from P ane were invited to interact with the young leader. Being a informal question and answer event the topics of discussion were spread across a variety of fields (for example -politics, racial discrimination, development and barriers to entry into

politics) and they were of diverse nature and this made the session interesting as well as intriguing. the way Mr. rahul G andhi handled the crowd and the rhythm with which he accepted and answered all the questions left a lasting impression on most of us from MITSOB. his personality was most impressive and thus I shall analyze the above situation for this assignment. ANALYSIS I shall analyze Mr. Rahul G andhi on the big five factor models:: I feel that Mr. rahul G andhi is a type A personality 1. Extravention 2. Agreeableness 3. Emotional stability 4. Openness to experience 5. Conscientiousness Extravention Rahul came across as a leader with the personality of a friend. his mannerisms were very casual and the same time serious on a variety of issues. He interacted in English as well as Hindi. he seemed very comfortable in our company and he connected with us very well. PreviousNext
