Narrative Report
Many education systems are feeling challenged in having to prepare students for today's fast-changing
world. Students must develop the knowledge and skills for today and tomorrow's workplace, further education,
or training. Many things point to the need for meaningful change in education. Learners must not only develop
what they know, but also skills, attitudes, and values that will help them be capable people. For this to happen,
they need to actively take part in their learning and be motivated by it.
Education is important and represents a priority, because if human beings don't become aware of
disaster risks especially in times of natural calamities, they might harm themselves. Because of changing and
cannot be prevent calamity, Department of Education released a new guidelines on suspension of classes. Based
on DepEd Order No. 37 series of 2022, classes and work in schools are cancelled or suspended classes
during a typhoon, heavy rainfall, flood, earthquake, and power outages/power interruptions/brownouts.
During a typhoon, DepEd said that in-person, online classes and work from Kindergarten to Grades 12
and Alternative Learning System (ALS) in all levels are “automatically cancelled” in schools situated in
Local Government Units (LGUs) issued with Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) 1, 2, 3,4, or 5 by
the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Unfortunately, a typhoon called “Maymay” developed its tropical depression in Nueva Ecija, the reason
why classes are suspended. The tropical depression last for 2 days. Since we faced the changing mode of
education, teachers and learners are automatically shift into blended modality of teaching. Teachers gave
modules to the students for them to read and study together with the help of their guardians.
Learners of Grade 2- Sampaguita study Mathematics Module 8 and Homeroom Guidance Module
2 in the first day of class suspension. Teachers also give activities that can engage and encourage learners
to study very well even they are not in school. Teachers give learning printed modules in the second day
of class suspension entitled Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao module 7 and Araling Panlipunan module 7.
Moreover, teacher also give reading materials that can improve leaners level in reading.
When using a blended learning model, keep in mind that its aim is to combine the strengths of both
traditional and online learning methods in order to give your learners a more engaging learning experience.
Through blended learning training, you’ll take advantage of the best of both worlds, benefitting both learners
and teachers.
