IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous Ask the students what would happened to them if they don not have
lesson or presenting skeletal system in their body, no steel,gravel, and sand used in the
new lesson building, there is no bedrock under the soil? Let the students explain

their answer until they understand the importance of framework or
foundation.

Students will be group into 5 group. Each group will be given 20 pcs of
straw to do the activity

Straw Tower Building Challenge


Objectives:
B. Establishing a purpose To build the tallest tower out of 30 straws that will stand for 3 to 5
of the lesson seconds
(MOTIVATION)
Materials:
Drinking Straw
Scotch Tape

Procedure:
1.The tower must be constructed using only the drinking straws and
masking tape.
2. The straws can be interconnected directly by sliding one end into
another straw. Straws may be bent, cut or slit.
3. Students may not completely cover their structure with masking
tape as reinforcement; tape is used at joints only. Tape may not be
used to secure the tower to a table, base, ceiling or surface. You may
not make a leg, brace, cone or column out of tape.
4. The height of the tower will be measured.
5. The highest tower that can stand for 3 to 5 seconds will be declared
as the winner and entitled for 20 points score for their activity.

3. Why it is important to have a framework ?
4. Explain the significance of your activity in research.
