Intelligent Valve Controller ND9000 Series

 Technical Description
The ND9000 is a 4–20 mA or fieldbus powered mi-
The powerful 32-bit microcontroller controls the valve
crocontroller-based intelligent valve controller. position.
The device contains a Local User Interface (LUI) en- The measurements include:
abling local configuration. · Input signal
A PC with Device Care software can be connected · Valve position with contactless sensor
· Actuator pressures, 2 independent measurements
to the ND9000 itself or to the control loop.
· Supply pressure
· Spool valve position
· Device temperature

Self-diagnostics
Advanced self-diagnostics guarantees that all measure-
ments operate correctly.

After connections of electric signal and pneumatic supply y

the qmicro controller (µC) reads the input signal, wposition
sensor ( ), epressure sensors (P s, P 1, P 2) and rspool
position sensor (SPS).
difference between input signal and wposition sensor
A
( ) measurement is detected by control algorithm inside w
the qµC. e

The qµC calculates a new value for tprestage (PR) coil cur-
rent based on the information from the input signal and from q
the sensors. The changed current to the PR changes the pi-
lot pressure to the spool valve. Reduced pilot pressure
moves the spool and the yactuator pressures change ac-
cordingly.
he spool opens the flow to the driving side of the double
T
diaphragm actuator and opens the flow out from the oth- r
er side of the actuator.
t

The increasing pressure will move the diaphragm piston. The

yactuator and feedback shaft rotate.
The wposition sensor ( ) measures the rotation for the qµC.
The µC using control algorithm modulates the tPR-current
from the steady state value until the new position of the yac-
tuator, according to the input signal, is reached.
