PROCESSIONAL:
(If seems opportune, the candidates to receive Holy Communion process through the main aisle while an
instrumental music is played.)
CHILD: Good morning to all!/ We come as one family of God/ in praise and thanksgiving/ for
indeed,/ it is the day/ that the Lord has made for all of us./ Let us together express our
gratitude to our God/ who has been good and generous to us./ We are happy because our
parents,/ teachers, friends/ and especially for Fr. Arnel Raboy is here/ to celebrate with us/
as we receive Jesus,/ the Bread of Life, for the first time.
Yes from the time/ we are going to receive Jesus,/ the Bread of Life!/ He will make us
strong in our faith/and love for God and others.
Today, we too, / are going to renew/ the promise we made when we were baptized;/ promise
made by our parents/ our godparents for us./ We want to be like Jesus./ He is good,/
obedient and full of love.

GREETINGS
PRIEST: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

PRIEST; Brothers and sisters, the Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe is a celebration of God’s
willingness to grace all our humanity, to renew humanity from all stain of sin, beginning in
a special way with Mary. We celebrate today that special opennes of Mary, the first
disciple, to place her faith and trust in God with her whole life.
So, with our First communicants let us also, gathered together by the Holy Spirit, proceed
to the house of God to encounter Christ.
There we will find him in the breaking of the bread, until he comes again, revealed in glory.
My dear children, what do you wish to ask from our Mother church, the family of God?
CANDIDATES: He will make us strong in faith, obedient, loving and gracious members of His great
family, the Church.
PRIEST: Hence, strive to live as true children of God, love and serve the Lord with all your heart
and love your neighbor as yourself.
To be worthy to celebrate this sacred meal, let us call our sins and ask the Lord for pardon
and strength.
A brief pause for silence follows. Then the priest and the community recite together the formula of general
confession.
Commentator: I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do.
PRIEST: Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever–Virgin, all the angels and Saints, and to you, my
brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
May almighty God have mercy on us forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.

PRIEST: Almighty ever-living God, we humbly implore your majesty, that, just as your Only
Begotten Son was presented on this day in the the temple in the substance of our flesh, so,
by your grace, we may be presented to you with minds made pure.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Commenatator: May I request all the Candidates to please stand for renewal of vows, And
may I call one Representative of the Candidates to light the candle from the
Paschal candle then share the light with your classmates.
PRIEST: My dear children, today you will renew your Baptismal vows.
When you were baptized, your godparents answered for you.
Today, the mother church will ask you again, and you will promise for yourself.
Are you now ready to answer?
PRIEST: Do you believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth?
PRIEST: Do you believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, who became man and suffered for us?
PRIEST: Do you believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting?
PRIEST: Do you believe that during the Mass you receive the Body and Blood of Christ?
PRIEST: May Almighty God help you to be faithful to all you have promised.

PRIEST: My brothers and sisters, today we honor Mary in special way, because she, as Mother of
the Savior, was preserved free from the stain of original sin, in union with her, let us pray
to the Lord for all the graces for our church and the whole World. Let us pray to the Lord:
Lord, through the intercessi0n of Mary, hear our prayer.
CHILD 1: For the Holy Father, Pope Francis and all Ministers of the church, may they always
encourage true devotion to Mary and preserve in good works for the cause of love, peace
and justice in the world. Let us pray to the Lord.
CHILD 2: For our government and civic leaders, that they may work together in upholding and
defending the rights and dignity of every person under their care. Let us pray to the Lord.
CHILD 3: For our parents, brothers and sisters, teachers and friends, that they may become for us
good examples of kindness, forgiveness, generosity and love for God. Let us pray to the
Lord.
CHILD 4: For all children, especially those who are sick and neglected, that they may experience
comfort, strength and love from the people around them. Let us pray to the Lord.
CHILD 5: For our country, especially our town, Cadiz, that amidst crisis, it may soon experience
healing and walk towards harmony, understanding and reconciliati0n. Let us pray to the
Lord.
CHILD 6: For all of us, who celebrate this sacred meal, that we may be nourished and may be
stregthened to boldly proclaim God’s goodness and righteousness in our own communities.
Let us pray to the Lord.
CHILD 7: For all Priests, all Catechists, and Teachers that they may continue to become God’s
instrument of love and compassion. Let us pray to theLord.
PRIEST: Father in union with Mary, we make our prayers to you, confident that you will answer
