First Communion 2022
First Communion 2022
The first Communicants with the celebrant will go inside the church in solemn procession.
INTRODUCTION:
Felicity Veine C. Patricio: Dear Parents, Teachers and Friends let us all rejoice
for today we are ready to have our First Communion. During the
Holy mass we will be permitted to receive Jesus, the Living Bread in our
hearts. Thank you for allowing us to have new life through Baptism and
for accompanying us every Sunday Mass. Thank you dear parents for
helping us prepare for this special day in our lives.
Mrs. Jesiebel Amoncio : Dear Children, when you were born, we were
grateful to God for the gift of life. But God in His life gave you more - a
share in His own life and love through baptism. Today, Jesus shows you
even greater grace. He comes to feed you with His own Body and Blood.
Indeed, we are happy to celebrate it with you beginning today, your First
Communion.
Mr. Denise Xyra E. Lumahang: Dear Children, you are about to make an important
step in your life. As you step forward, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the
Mother of Jesus and also our Mother in grace, a natural way to Christ, is
with you especially that this month is also the month of our Lady of the
Rosary. Like us, our Mother in heaven is most happy that today you will
receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Together with the whole Christian assembly,
you will join us in thanking God for His care and love for all of us.
Francis Enzo B. Fajardo: He gives us His Son, Jesus who comes to us in Holy
Communion. He wants us to live as Jesus did loving God and loving our
neighbor.
Ms. Mary Jade D. Peñafiel:Now dear children, let us celebrate the Mass together. It is
through the Mass that God shows us that He will care for us always,
because He sent Jesus to share His very own life with us.
Tr. Christa May Ponce: Let us all stand for the entrance hymn.

my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the

OPENING PRAYER
All: Amen.
Tr. Christa May Ponce: Let us all be seated and listen to the Word of God.
A reading from the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians (1Cor. 11:23-26)
This is what I received from the Lord, and in turn passed on to you: that
on the same night that he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread,
and thanked God for it and broke it, and he said, ‘This is my body, which
is for you; do this as a memorial of me.’ In the same way he took the cup
after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant of my blood,
whenever you drink it. Do this in memorial of me.’ Until the Lord comes,
therefore, every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are
proclaiming his death.
4
1. Taste and see heaven’s bounty, every step and breath we take is a gift
that God has made.
2. God alone is my glory, like the moon that lights my way Like a song that
fills my day.
3. Go to God in your loneliness and journey in the silence the Lord is near
to the thirsty heart and close to those who wait.
Tr. Christa May Ponce: Let us all stand to honor the holy Gospel.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:
Priest: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. John (6: 54–56)
Priest: Jesus said: ‘I am the living bread which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I shall
live is my flesh, for the life of the world.’ Then the Jews started arguing
with one another: ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’ they said.
Jesus replied: ‘I tell you most solemnly, if you do not eat the flesh of the
Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in you. Anyone
who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life, and I shall
raise them up on the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is
real drink. Those who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and
I live in them. As I, who am sent by the living Father, myself draw life
from the Father, so whoever eats me will draw life from me.’
The Gospel of the Lord.

RENEWAL OF BAPTISMAL VOWS
Ms. Erica Louisse A. Manuel: The lighted candle is like the one given to you on
the day you were baptized. Please always remember that when
you were baptized, you were taken from darkness into light. We, your
parents love you very much. As you grow up, we want you to follow Jesus’
message of love and service.
Priest: My dear children, when you were baptized you were too young to
promise to love and serve God and your neighbor. But on this day, your
First Holy Communion, you yourselves will repeat the promises your
parents and your godparents made for you. Do you promise to do your
best to love God and your neighbor always as Jesus wants us to do?
Priest: Do you promise to listen to the voice of God who speaks to us in our
conscience through our parents and teachers?
Priest: Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth?
Priest: Do you believe in Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born
of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and
was buried, descended into hell and on the third day was rose again from
6
the dead, ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the
Father almighty?
Priest: Do you believe that the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the
Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body
and life everlasting?
Priest: Do you believe that during the Mass you receive the Body and Blood of
Christ?
Priest: May the ever-loving God bless you and help you to keep these promises
faithfully throughout your lives.
SONG:
THE LITTLE LIGHT OF MINE
Tr. Christa May Ponce: You may now blow your candles.
Priest: Dear parents, you cared for your children; you have desired the best, their
happiness. All of you wish, that they develop all their capabilities and
7
grow up into persons who find their way to salvation and become a
blessing for others.
Tr. Christa May Ponce: Parents, please extend your right hand.
Mr. Karl Jay D. Ramos: Father in heaven, bless now and forever our children.
Let your blessings rest in them. Guide our children in right ways. Make
our children bearers of your blessings. Let them recognize You and go
Your way. Give them light and strength in every situation. Lord Jesus
Christ may your death and resurrection be effective in our children. Give
them fruit of redemption, the Holy Spirit, as light and strength in all works
of their lives. Most Blessed Trinity, bless our children. And we bless them
now in your name.
Priest: The blessing of Almighty God, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
be in our children and remain with them forever and ever.
All: Amen.
Priest: Jesus continues to love us endlessly and still is “Emmanuel” God – with –
us, through the Eucharist, the Sacrament of Body and Blood. Let us implore
Him that beginning this day, we may ever more appreciate His love for us,
that we, in turn, may grow in deep longing for Him as we say: “Jesus
nourish us with Your life.”
Mr. Al Deanny D. Peñafiel: For the Holy Mother church, bishops, Priests, through
whom the Body and Blood of Jesus is daily made present that they may
grow in fervent love for Jesus, and celebrate the Eucharist with greater
faith and devotion. Let us pray to the Lord.
8
Kristoff Keith O. Santander: For Pope Francis, Bishop Jose A. Cabantan, all the
priests, nuns, religious and all lay people who serve in the Diocese of
Malaybalay, especially those instrumental in our spiritual formation, that
they may always be courageous witnesses of Jesus Christ in word and in
deed here on earth. That they may not lose hope or weaken but ever be
burning with the desire to lead your people to know, love and serve you.
Let us pray to the Lord.
Mikaela Rocelle I. Ventenilla: For the leaders of the world and of nations, that they
may listen to the voice of the Spirit at work in the world and look with
wisdom and in dialogue for solutions to end wars, civil strife, and
exploitation of nations and one person by another, and continue to strive
for the common good. Let us pray to the Lord.
Ms. Andrea Valderama: For all parents and guardians that we, ourselves
be frequent recipients of the Eucharist and be inspiring examples in words
and in deed of the relevance of the Eucharist in the lives of our children.
Let us pray to the Lord.
Mr. Raul Ventenilla : For us, parents, that we may never forget our
solemnobligation to educate our children and to create a family
atmosphere where they are loved. May the loving security we offer our
children, lead them to love God and neighbor more adequately. Let us pray
to the Lord.
Toni Miguel Abrahan: For all of us children, that our reception of the Body and
Blood of Christ in the Eucharist makes us more loving, obedient
and respectful to all. Let us pray to the Lord.
9
Ms. Hazel Joy Vergara: For all catechists and teachers of the faith, that they may
never grow weary of religiously inculcating to children and to all the
depth of Jesus’ love in the Eucharist. Let us pray to the Lord.
Priest: Lord Jesus, you have given us the Eucharist as the foretaste of that
heavenly banquet that awaits us. Through our reception of Your Body and
Blood, inspire us to yearn for You always, You who live and reign, forever
and ever.
All: Amen.
2. God accept our offering: faith and hope and love we bring;
all that we will be and all that we will do,
we offer now to You. La la la la la la la la la,
we offer now to You.

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
Priest: Pray, brethren, that our sacrifice may be acceptable to God the Almighty
Father.
All: May the Lord / accept the sacrifice at your hands / for the praise and the
glory of His name / for our good / and the good of all His holy Church.
Priest: God our Father, continue to bless us and make us Holy. Accept our gifts
and prayers and share with us your only Son Jesus. We ask this in the
name of Jesus, the Lord.
All: Amen.
EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
Priest: God, our loving Father, we are glad to give you thanks and praise
because you love us.
Because you love us, you gave us this great and beautiful world.
Because you love us, you sent Jesus, your Son to bring us to you and
gather us around him as the children of one family.
For such great love, we thank you with the angels and saints as
they praise you and sing:
11
Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna in the highest.
Priest: God our Father, Blessed be Jesus, whom you sent to be the friend of
children and of the poor. He came to show us how we can love you,
Father, by loving one another. He came to take away the sin, which keeps
us from being friends and make us all unhappy. God our Father, we now
ask you to send your Holy Spirit, to be with us always so that we can live
as your children. God our Father, we now ask you to send your Holy Spirit
to change these gifts of bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus
Christ, Our Lord.
That night before He died, Jesus your Son, showed us how much You love
us. When he was at supper with His disciples, He took bread, and gave
you thanks and praise. Then He broke the bread, gave it to His friend, and
said: “Take this all of you and eat it, this is my body which will be given
up for you.”
When supper was ended, Jesus took the cup that was filled with wine, He
thanked you gave it to His friends and said, “Take this all of you, and
drink from it. This is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and
everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins
maybe forgiven. Do this in memory of me.”
Priest: And so loving Father, we remember that Jesus died and rose again to save
the world. He put Himself into our hands to be the sacrifice we offer you.
Lord our God, listen to our prayer, send the Holy Spirit to all of us who
share in this meal. May this Spirit bring us closer together in the family of
the Church, with Francis, our Pope, Noel, our Bishop, and All the other
clergy and all who serve your people.
12
Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope
of `the resurrection, and all who have died in Your mercy: welcome them
into the light of your mercy: Welcome them into the light of Your face.
Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother
of God, St. Joseph, St. Isidore, with the Blessed Apostles, and all the saints
who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to
eternal life, and may praise and glorify You through Your Son, Jesus
Christ.
Priest: Jesus taught us to call God our Father and so we have the courage to sing.
Priest: Lord, keep everything bad and harmful away from us. Help us live in
joyful hope, for the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ.
All: For the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory are Yours, now and forever.
Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, I leave you peace, my peace I
give You. Look not on our sins but on the faith of your church and grant us
the peace and unity of the your kingdom where you live forever and ever.
All: Amen
Priest: Let us now ask Jesus, the Lamb of God to show His mercy and peace.
13
Tr. Christa May Ponce: Please kneel.
With reverence and joy we receive you in Holy Communion. May it bring
us closer to you and help us to live and love as you did.
This is the lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are
those who are called to His supper.
All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say
the word and my soul shall be healed.
