    Sally was the product of teenage parents who divorced when she was 15. Her father told her to think of herself as a paper bird that needs her mother, the wind, to fly. Sally resented her mother for the divorce. Years later, during a visit on her mother's birthday, Sally saw her mother's caring side. She later learned that her mother had cancer since Sally was 15 and was on her deathbed. Her mother asked for forgiveness before passing. Sally then visited her father and learned he was at fault for the divorce after cheating on her mother. Sally realized her mother, the wind beneath her wings, supported her all along.

    9Wind beneath my wings

    Being a teenager in this generation is hard. living in a problematic world that seems to normalize
    everything, even the worst possible things and one of that is teenage pregnancy. Sally herself is a result
    of her now divorced parent’s puppy love. They were each other’s first love. they were full of love and
    enjoyed each other’s company and then the unexpected came, sally was born into her only minor
    parents, both un prepared and both has no idea of what they just got themselves into. Besides all of that
    their parents still supported them and helped them raise sally while they continued studying. they both
    ended up graduating and getting a good job which led them to be able to give sally a comfortable life.

    Even with all those, sally’s father ended up leaving them when sally was only 15. before leaving her
    father gave her a paper bird and told her “Sally think of yourself as this bird and think of your mother as
    the wind. do you think this bird could fly without wind? for sure it’ll be hard for the bird to do so, that’s
    why no matter what never resent your mother never blame her for ruining this family, it was me, I’m the
    bad guy. love your mother for me fulfill what I can’t, she cannot forgive me for what I’ve done I’m
    sorry.”

    her mom raised her by herself ever since. time flew by sally already became a fine lady with elegant
    features that surely stands out. Sally’s mother filled her with anything she wished, but that did not make
    sally happy she resented her mother the divorce just broke her. she rebelled and promised her self to
    never be like her mother, if only you forgave dad then we could’ve been a happy family now, these are
    the words sally always tells her mom.

    years have passed sally became a woman and already graduated she rarely visits her mother until now
    she still hates her for not letting her have a happy family. But one time on her mother’s birthday she
    decided to visit her mother, her mother was so happy to see her, she even baked her her favorite cake

    sally felt the warmth she hasn’t felt for a very long time so she decided to stay there with her mom for a
    while. During her stay there she saw the other side of her mom she never thought she had, her mom
    cooked for her loved her and took care of her. There she thought how could I ever resent this woman
    and the memories came running through her mind realizing that her mom only gave her the best of the
    best she felt bad but still with a pinch of anger in her heart

    once when her mother was wearing a sleeveless top sally noticed a scar on her body she screamed
    angrily with confusion on her face. her mom was startled and was hesitating to tell her . eventually she
    had to they sat down on the balcony holding each other’s hands . sally darling I’m sorry I couldn’t tell
    you earlier but I’m sick I was diagnosed with cancer when you were 15 and they said my time is limited .
    I’m sorry I couldn’t be with you longer ,they both cried .

    sally stayed by her mothers side through out her left time turns out that the scar she saw was from
    chemo. She gave her mom a ride when ever she needed to. Time has come her mother was on her
    death bed sally’s heart was broken the last words her mother said to her was : sally go to your father
    when I leave he can take care of you and I want you to continue even without me , before I go I want to
    ask your forgiveness im sorry I couldn’t give you the happy family you wanted , after forgiving her
    mother , she left this world knowing her only daughter whom she loved the most forgave her, finally.

    So as to fulfill her mother’s last will she went to her father , when her father found out , he broke in to
    tears . I never loved anyone else rather than your mom ,she was my first love but I broke her heart. After
    finding out she had cancer and that her time was limited I felt scared I didn’t know what to do , I met
    someone else and your mother found out that’s why we separated sally fall into tears knowing that all
    this time it was her father that was at fault and she resented her mother thinking it was her fault . sally’s
    father handed her a box inside was the bird he gave her .

    she was a bird who wouldn’t be able to fly again , she lost her wind the most important thing she
    needed .

    her mom was the wind beneath her wings.
