Technology is a gift of God. After the gift of life it is perhaps the greatest of God's gifts.

It is the mother of civilizations, of arts and of sciences. Technology has certainly changed the

way we live. It has impacted different facets of life and redefined living. Undoubtedly,

technology plays an important role in every sphere of life. Several manual tasks can be

automated, thanks to technology. Also, many complex and critical processes can be carried out

with ease and greater efficiency with the help of modern technology. Thanks to the application of

technology, living has changed and it has changed for better. Technology has revolutionized the

field of education. The importance of technology in schools cannot be ignored. In fact, with the

onset of computers in education, it has become easier for teachers to impart knowledge and for

students to acquire it. The use of technology has made the process of teaching and learning all

the more enjoyable. (R. Raja, P. C. Nagasubramani)

According to the latest insights as to how exactly modern students of today prefer to use

technology and how does their learning get an impact if they use technology, it was revealed that

the use of modern equipment technology and tools, the learning and interactivity of students

increases. They also find it much more interactive, as well as full of interesting areas, when aided

by technology. The transfer of knowledge becomes very easy and convenient, as well as

effective. What this means is that our minds now tend to work faster when assisted with the use

of modern technology, be it any part of life, here we talk about education. The reliance and

dependence of such an innovation, that simply makes life an easy, smooth journey, is completely

unavoidable these days even in schools, universities, and colleges. R. Raja*, P. C.

Nagasubramani (2018)
The development of modern technology (gadgets) has led to the widespread use of

Internet channels for everyday use among students at the University. Student engagement in

the use of gadgets is usually online through mobile phones, computers, tablets and laptops.

Generally, social media engagement with modern technology is a new phenomenon

experienced by University students who are seen to have implications for their learning.

The main objective of the study was to identify the positive and negative effects of gadgets on

the development of student learning at the University.

The internet has grown in importance by many folds, over the process of decade. Its

importance in the education world can now never be undermined. Despite the chances of fraud

and drawbacks, the use of the internet is like a blessing for students. Today, the internet is

something that is present in almost everything we use. From television to gaming consoles,

and our phones, the internet is literally everywhere. The use of the internet allows students to

find amazing convenience, they can find various kinds of help, tutorials, and other kinds of

assisting material which could be used to academically improve and enhance their learning.

All of us together are surging through the maximum profound revolution in human

history. It effects is personal, national, worldwide and in lots of ways unlimited. Yes, it’s far the

effect of education. He new network age makes it pressing to reconsider absolutely what we

suggest through education gaining knowledge of coaching and schooling. For instruction is

converting extern than a it's remembers for their reason that innovation of the printing of press

over the 500 years ago, as now the arena is your study room and gaining knowledge of his

lifelong. Already billion students spend four-fifths in their operating hour’s outdoors school, in

an iPod, YouTube, Google, Wikipedia etc. our institutes network schools and universities need
to be incubators of investigation and invention. Instructors must be observers in gaining

knowledge of searching for new understanding and continuously and obtaining new abilities

along their learners. Education authorities must set an ingenious prescient for

accumulating gaining knowledge of reviews that offer the proper equipment and helps for all

inexperienced persons to thrive. Technology has impacted nearly each issue of existence today

and of course education is not any exception in that. It has affected and impacted the manner

matters are provided and taught within side the study room to the students. It has in large part

impacted at the substance which can be used and manner we those substance to educate

students within side the schools. Dr. Sonia Sharma, Monika (2020)
Technology advancements have changed the students' study habits dramatically through

the years as well as affected the teachers' method of presenting information. Gone were the days

when students have to go to the libraries to do the research or taking down notes during classes.

The access to internet has provided public information available to students at the comfort of

their homes wherein they don't need to read books or travel that far to get needed details.

Through the internet, they can visit museums and various libraries across the globe while at

home. Moreover, the availability of technology has also quickened the acquisition of information

through the net by just typing a key word like mathematical calculations. Acquired information

can also be shared among their classmates in a more efficient ways. Studying has become far

more flexible for students as they can choose to learn and present information in their own ways.

Learning has also widened its scope through documentaries or tutorials on the net. While,

technology also helped educators make young students understand the morals and ethics of using

online contents, and the responsibility of using these educational tools, there are setbacks having

children too exposed with the technology. They tend to play anywhere or anytime they want.

Early exposures of children to technology may also cause some medical concerns. Lastly, too

much contact of the child with this technology makes impact on their writing skills – resulting to

their poor spelling skills and grammar. Noemi Tabefranca (2018)

On the other hand, study habits are considered how a student organizes his or her private

reading, outside lecture hours, in order to become expert on a particular topic . Hence, study

habits can be good if they permit to a student to excel or can be bad if they lead a student to get

mediocre grades. To sum up, a good process of studying does not consist only in memorizing

facts but in recalling when necessary these facts, and related information, and to use them in an

intelligent way. Therefore, study habits influence students’ ability of learning and technologies

devices play a crucial role among factors which can condition study habits. A recent study

commissioned by McGraw-Hill Education has revealed that the use of mobile devices and online

activities can help the process of studying but, on the other hand, they can influence it badly.

According to this survey, online activities represent the main distraction for almost 40% of the

students interviewed; moreover, more than 50% of the interviewed affirmed to use laptop, tablets

and phones to text friends when they are studying. On the other hand, the same survey has

pointed out that students take equally advantage by using technologies (mostly smartphones than

tablets or computer), for their studying. Moreover, the use of digital tools for studying permit

them to save time that they employ above all for sleeping. Different authors in literature have

stressed on the studying benefits deriving by the use of mobile devices for learning, because

these could lead to an improved access to education with better educational outcomes. Mobile

phones represent an important resource to improve students literary and numeracy skills, and

they also permit both independent and collaborative learning experiences leading to a

personalized learning process. Moreover, cell-phones are useful to support lifelong learning that

occurs spontaneously in several settings not only represented by the formal ones. These benefits

are balanced by the negative effects of the improper use of these tools and of psychological

disorders that can be related to their use [4]. The risk, especially important in young people who
represent the largest users, is to address all human relations in a “surreal”, and that the hyper-use

to manage relationships, emotions and states of loneliness turns into a real addiction. Another

possible risk associated to the excessive use of mobile phone is the exponential growth in the

levels of stress and anxiety due in particular to the fact that it can be accessed and controlled at

all times and to the possibility to just reach out and control other people in any place and time.

The excessive use of cellular phones has led to the development of specific disorders as the

“disconnection syndrome” or the “syndrome of ringing or vibration ghost”. Other tools whose

prolonged and incorrect use could cause a sense of addiction are personal computer connected to

Internet and TV. Their incorrect use could also affect studying in college students. Some data

about technology use in Italian adolescents (11, 13 and 15 years old children) has been provided

by the Italian HBSC Report as part of the article on the risk of sedentary lifestyle. However, no

information about study habits and technology use among Italian university population are

available. The objective of this paper is to present the results of the “Sportello Salute Giovani”

project in order to analyze the approach to study, the use of technologies and how the later can

affect study habits in university students. Poscia, A., Frisicale, E. M., Parente, P., Milia, D. I. L.,
