2. Site planning
2.1 Local requirements
Area for the trailer:
- 16m x 6.0m
- For walking patients the stair entrance will be at the backside of the trailer. This stairs are
mounted to the trailer and needs a clearance of approx. 3 m. (This is included in the 18m)
- Also a clearance is required for maneuvering the stretcher towards the lift.
- In front of the trailer a clearance is required for attaching the truck to the trailer.
Ground under the trailer:
- A solid and flat surface is required with a loading capacity of 29.000kg
- If the surface is unstable reinforcement is required by additional concrete or road pavement,
etc.
- The surface should be flat and level for installing the trailer in such a way to ensure no accidents
or problems will occur.
- In case of doubt please contact Toshiba Medical System B.V.

- Please check the total length of network cables, some cases demand an additional switch if the
distance becomes too long.
- An inlet (CAT 5 or higher) at the hospital side has been provided near the power point.
- All above arrangement according to the installation of network connection are to be done by the
client.
- In case a standard connection is not allowed the attached form will supply information concerning
other solutions.

3. Radiation
In The Netherlands the use of equipment emitting ionizing radiation is regulated by the Nuclear
Energy Act (Kernenergiewet). The law provides a framework. Actual measures to be taken are in the
form of decrees, general administrative measures and ministerial decisions.
The decree on Radiation Protection (BS Besluit Stralingsbescherming), regulates the protection of
workers and the general public from risks of exposure for all work involving radiation.
The decree requires a license for using ionizing radiation emitting equipment. The mobile CT-
scanner is part of the license issued by the Ministry and licensed to Toshiba Medical Systems
Europe.
Identification and evaluation of risks of actions during which exposure to ionizing radiation may
occur are identified an evaluated. A risk inventory and evaluation (RI&E) report for the mobile CT-
scanner can be made available for the license-holder of the hospital.
Toshiba Medical Systems Europe Radiation license number: 2008/2220-08 as published in the Dutch
th
Staatscourant on December 12 2008.
