Lab Plan
Sr. No EXPERIMENT DETAILS CO Proposed Actual Week Remarks
Week
1 Aim: To plot forward and reverse characteristics of semiconductor diode CO1 Week 1
Part A:
1. Develop the circuit diagram and experimental set up to find forward
characteristics of the given p-n junction diode experimentally. Tabulate the
readings as per the observation table mentioned in Lab Manual. Plot the
graph of forward characteristics using these tabulated readings.
Part B: Do not require any resources from laboratory. So can be completed
independently as home work.
2. Plot the DC load line for the values of any specific input DC voltage (V DC)
from observation table and a resistor used for VI characteristics. Now
determine the operating point (Q) of the diode. Calculate the static
resistance (RD) and dynamic resistance (rd) from the knowledge of this
operating point.
2 Implement various applications of diode as clipper, clamper circuits using CO1 Week 2
semiconductor diode.
Part A:
1. Propose the different circuits of clipper, clamper and analyze each circuit by
applying appropriate test signal and output obtained.
2. Verify the input-output of the circuits proposed by you for different voltage
levels and different circuit component combinations wherever required.
Part B: Do not require any resources from laboratory. So can be completed
independently as home work.
3. Plot the input-output waveforms of the circuits chosen theoretically. Justify
for any deviation occurred in experimentation and theoretical results.
3 To plot VI characteristics of zener diode and observe zener diode as voltage CO1 Week 3
regulator.
Part A:
1. Develop the circuit diagrams and experimental set up to plot forward and
reverse VI characteristics of the given zener diode. Tabulate the readings as
per the observation table mentioned in Lab Manual and find its zener
breakdown voltage.
2. Design Zener diode voltage regulator for the given design specifications*.
Tabulate the readings of its output voltage for varying input voltage at
fixed load OR for varying load at fixed input voltage.
Part B: Do not require any resources from laboratory. So can be completed
independently as home work.
3. Plot its line OR load regulation graph and determine its line OR load
regulation.
*Write the design specifications separately as given during the laboratory session.
4 Aim: To plot input and output characteristics of BJT in CE configuration. To CO1, Week 4
determine its ac equivalent parameters. To implement different biasing circuits for CO2
CE configuration and test for the most appropriate basing circuit for BJT as an
amplifier.
Part A:
1. Develop the circuit diagram and experimental set up to find input output
characteristics for CE configurations of BJT. Tabulate the readings as per the
observation table mentioned in Lab Manual.
2. For CE configuration, design and implement self-biasing circuit, emitter
stabilized biasing circuit and voltage divider biasing circuit for the appropriate
operating point. Tabulate the operating point of each circuit by changing the BJT
of these circuits with at least 3 different values of current gains (β) as per the
observation table given in manual. Now comment on the most appropriate basing
circuit for BJT as an amplifier in CE configuration from the readings of
observation table.

Part 2: Do not require any resources from laboratory. So can be completed

independently as home work.
1. Determine ac equivalent parameters of CE configuration from the obtained
input output characteristics graphs.
