SAFETY AREA
As an industry standard, a 3‐
meter safety zone must be
respected around the area
located under the NACA vents,
overpressure protectors and
refuel coupling(s)

Obey the safety distances for 3 m (10 ft.) from aircraft

The refueling/defueling zone must be regarded as
extending not less than 3 m radially from the filling and
venting points on the aircraft and the fueling/defueling
equipment

Obey the safety distances for 3 m (10 ft.) from aircraft

the radios, radio telephones (cell phones or mobile
on lighting systems of other than intrinsically safe types
are not allowed.
Personnel in the refueling/defueling zone and those

employed in refueling/defueling must not carry matches
or other means of ignition or foot‐wear with exposed iron
or steel studs, nails or tips.

between the fuel tanker and a

REFUELING PROCESS
Automatic refueling may be accomplished with normal electrical power
established or with battery power only.

Procedure:
• set parking brake

• put chocks in position. Make sure that the chocks do not touch the tires.

• connect 2 or 4 hoses to the fuel couplings,

• put ADIRU 1, 2, 3 in NAV position on the overhead panel

• open the Refuel panel access door on the lower fuselage,

REFUELING PANEL SELF TEST
Lift the guard, then push (in) and hold the HI LEVEL TEST switch for
test indication and hi level sensor

AUTOMATIC REFUELING
MODE SELECT switch set to REFUEL.

AUTOMATIC REFUELING
PRESELECTED switch is used to preselect the fuel quantity on
the PRESELECTED display.

AUTOMATIC REFUELING
To start a refuel, this quantity must be set to a value, which is more than 200 kg
greater than the ACTUAL indication.

AUTOMATIC REFUELING
Start the pump on the fuel tanker/pump unit After mode select to Refuel.

Each fuel tank has one or more MLIs
If an indication malfunction occurs,

the MLIs can be used to check the
fuel quantity.
The aircraft attitude will determine

which fuel table to use.

The ADIRU will be used to find the
aircraft attitude ( Pitch & Roll ).
The air data inputs to the ADIRU

can be read by using the alpha call‐
up function in the Aircraft Condition
Monitoring System (ACMS).

Safety Instructions Applicable to Hydraulic Fluid
Do not mix phosphoric‐ester‐type hydraulic fluid and mineral‐base hydraulic fluid:

this mixture causes the formation of a gelatinous substance in the hydraulic system which
can damage the system and decrease the aircraft safety.

Air System Check

Each reservoir is pressurized by air regulated to
50 psi to prevent cavitation of the pumps.
An air pressure gage, installed on each

reservoir, gives the relative pressure in the
reservoir.


All three reservoirs are filled at

the green ground service panel.

There are two ground connectors on

the service panel:
one for the onboard flexible hose
and the other one for connection to
an external hand pump.

This line includes a restrictor to

prevent overpressure

Apply all lubricants slowly and smoothly. Fill Grease until only new grease come
NITROGEN SERVICING
NITROGEN SERVICING SAFETY PRECAUTION
Refer to the table ( AMM ) to find the correct tire pressure, Inflate the tires with nitrogen.
NOTE:
Under‐inflated:
• Their shoulders can wear too much.
• The tires will bend too much and become hot.
• The tires can move on the wheels and decrease the braking effect.

Over‐inflated:
• Too much wear can occur on the center of the tire treads.
• The tires can decrease the braking effect.
• There is an increased risk of Foreign Object Damage (FOD) to the tires.

Slowly open the BLEED VALVE to release the

nitrogen pressure from the shock absorber. Let
the weight of the aircraft compress the shock
