The Church is human because its members are human beings and has the

DAY 2
INTRODUCTION
The Church, which is the revealed in Sacred Scriptures, most notably in the
Pauline epistles of Corinthians and Colossians, as the Mystical Body of Christ,
is both truly human and divine just like its founder Jesus Christ.
Catechesis 6 Module 3 p. 12
The Church is a truly human institution in a sense that it exists in the
world in a human manner and through human means. It is built out of the
living stones of individual human persons and is a community of human
believers who are gathered around Jesus Christ. However, unlike Christ who
is perfect, the individual human persons that compose the Church are
imperfect sinners lives are easily affected by the worldly temptations and
attachments.
