The Discipline of Economics

- This is the text of the first Morishima Lecture at the London School of Economics, which
focuses on two distinct priorities that are both critical to the field of economics. One top
priority is "separation," with a focus on carefully separating different problems and then
studying them independently. The "integration" priority, which focuses specifically on
finding connections between various difficulties, is considerably different. With the help
of examples, it is suggested that the competing agendas of the two have been linked to
some of the biggest conflicts within economics methodology. But the discipline demands
both.
What I learned about Disciplines of Economics?
- It is either the study of scarcity, the study of resource consumption and incentive
response, or the study of decision-making. It frequently touches on matters of wealth and
finance, but it's not only about money.

The Discipline of Geography

- There are many sub-disciplines of geography, many of which combine both human and
physical components, in addition to the two main areas of physical and human
geography. Furthermore, it can be challenging to draw clear divisions between academic
disciplines, much as it is with geographical regions. A human geographer might have
additional specializations in culture and religion. The same geographer might also carry
out auxiliary studies on environmental problems. She might also research the geographic
details of such locations in her free time. One advantage of geography is the wide range
of phenomena it offers for study. Since everything occurs somewhere, everything is
geographical.
What I learned about Discipline of Geography?
- The study of places and the interactions between people and their environs is known as
geography. Geographers study the surface of the Earth and the various human societies
that live there.

The Discipline of History

- The general paper for finals, Disciplines of History, has one overarching goal and two
more focused ones. It serves as a tool for gathering all of your work from the past three
years and commenting on it from various angles. In this sense, it serves in part as a
revision tool that will help you grasp each of your unique papers more thoroughly. By
contextualizing the reading you have done during the course in the history and
philosophy of historical writing, you add a layer of understanding to it and learn the art of
historical comparison, which makes information from many societies mutually
illuminating. For this paper, the laws of overlap are suspended to enable you to draw
from all the historical research you
What I learned about Discipline of History?
- analyzing, interpreting, and researching historical information, practices, and events. It
mostly entails having a deeper awareness of the past's various facets, which makes it
possible to analyze and comprehend historical data among other things.

The Discipline of Linguistics
- The study of language focuses on theories of language structure, variation, and use,
descriptions of modern languages, documentation of those languages, and the
implications of those theories for knowledge of the mind and brain, human culture, social
behavior, and language learning and teaching. The fundamental spoken utterances are the
subject of phonology and phonetics, the study of language sound systems. It can be
researched by looking at how the vocal tract's physical components—including the lips
and tongue—are employed to create various language sounds that serve as information
carriers. The study of the internal structure of words and sentences is covered by
morphology and syntax. Linguists aim to define the meaning of words and word
combinations in addition to studying the sound systems of languages and word and
sentence structure. Semantics is the study that is being conducted. Pragmatics is a branch
of semantics that compares the meanings of certain combinations when they interact with
contextual data.
What I learned about Discipline of Linguistics?
- linguistics can help students gain understanding of one of the most fascinating facets of
human knowledge and conduct. Learning about the sounds (phonetics, phonology),
words (morphology), sentences (syntax), and meaning (semantics) of human language are
all part of a linguistics major.

The Discipline of Psychology

- The scientific study of the mind and behavior is called psychology. People can develop a
broader and deeper understanding of themselves as human beings by studying
psychology. It encourages greater awareness of one's own behavior as well as increased
empathy for others. Psychology, which dates back to 400–500 BC, has evolved into a
broad field of study. Numerous scientific subfields, sometimes known as branches of
psychology, including clinical, experimental, social, educational, neuropsychological,
sports, developmental, organizational, and others.
What I learned about Discipline of Psychology?
- a comprehensive understanding of human behavior as well as the capacity to comprehend
and interpret data from human behavior studies.

The Discipline of Sociology

- The study of sociology examines the characteristics, processes, and causes of social life
as well as its effects on society as a whole. Due to its broad scope, sociology covers a
range of theoretical viewpoints, methodological stances, and substantive concerns.
Sociologists research a wide range of social phenomena, including online interactions,
relationships, and families as well as communities, governments, and international
markets. Cities and communities, inequality, social mobility and class, migration patterns,
social identities like race, class, and gender, ethnic relations and social conflict, social
media and digital interaction, as well as the social aspects of sex, health, business,
education, law, politics, religion, and science are all things that they research.
Sociologists research how these social structures, practices, and meanings arise, stabilize,
disintegrate, and have broad ramifications.
What I learned about Discipline of Sociology?
- specifies how people interact socially across ages, ethnicities, and genders. Three theories
—functionalist, conflict, and symbolic—are used to describe it. Each hypothesis offers a
unique explanation for how people connect with one another in daily life.

The Discipline of Demography

- Populations are the subject of demography. Demographers study the three basic
demographic processes of birth, migration, and aging (including death) in order to better
understand population dynamics. These three processes—how humans live the land,
create societies and nations, and shape culture—all affect how populations change. The
majority of the discipline's research focuses on people, although there are other
specialized areas as well, like biodemography.

Demographers evaluate populations, as is well known, but they can also make judgments
on particular members of the population. This is so because numerous demographic
statistics, like the life expectancy at birth or the fertility rate, can be used to generalize
about the average person based on population-level demographic patterns.
What I learned about Discipline of Demography?
- The statistical study of human populations is known as demography. Demography studies
how populations change over time and space in terms of size, composition, and
movement. It makes use of techniques from various disciplines, including anthropology,
economics, and sociology.
