PURPOSE
This assignment aims to appraise learners’ level of critical thinking skills in addressing
professionalism in nursing practice.
SYNOPSIS
Healthcare system is constantly evolving and nursing has transformed from a job to a
highly respected profession. Nurses are no longer seen just as a healthcare providers but
also as an avocators, educators and pillars of support for patients and their families.
Unfortunately, in some country, eventhough they are not seen as a handmaiden but they
have yet to reach the professional status.
REQUIREMENT
As Malaysian nurses,
1) Discuss the professional criteria which Malaysian nursing has achieved.
2) Discuss what Malaysian Nursing need to improve in order to achieve a full
professional status.

Lina has just completed her probationary period as a staff nurse in one of the established
medical centre in the town. She feels more confidence and had a clearer understanding of
what nursing is and, as Nightingale said, “what it is not” is part of the socialisation process
from nursing student to professional nurse.
REQUIREMENT
Describe socialisation strategies to ease the transition from student to professional nurse
and discuss how students’ initial images of nursing are transformed by professional
education and experiences.

SINOPSIS:
Lina baharu sahaja melengkapkan tempoh percubaan sebagai jururawat terlatih di sebuah
pusat perubatan yang terkenal di bandar. Beliau merasa lebih yakin dan mendapat
pemahaman yang lebih jelas tentang apa itu kejururawatan dan, seperti yang dikatakan
Nightingale, "apa yang bukan" adalah sebahagian daripada proses sosialisasi daripada
pelajar kejururawatan kepada jururawat profesional.
KEPERLUAN:
Huraikan strategi sosialisasi untuk memudahkan peralihan daripada pelajar kepada
