Audioscript for Listening task

Tom: How was Wildlife Adventure Camp, Laura?
Laura: Awesome! I went with some teenagers from my Saturday morning wildlife club. But none of my friends
from school were there – that was sad. And my brother wanted to come, but he was ill.
Tom: Oh, dear. So how did you get to the camp?
Laura: It was about an hour away by coach, and then we cycled through the forest. But then we parked our
bikes nearby and walked to the camp – the trees were so thick. That was great!
Tom: What about the weather? It was windy here.
Laura: Really? No, the sky was grey, and I really didn’t want to get wet! But it was OK – it was dry, and the
wind wasn’t blowing the trees at all when we got there.
Tom: What did you do during the day?
Laura: Well, we had jobs to do. Some people looked for unusual plants to draw. I helped build a shelter for
watching birds. That was amazing. Then other people went to look for wild animals.
Tom: And what did you see?
Laura: Well, I read about bats on my tablet. It said they usually come out and fly around at sunset. But we
didn’t see any! But we found some unusual spiders – look, here’s a photo.
Tom: Ugh.... very nice! So did you cook together in the evenings?
Laura: Well, while the adults were cooking, different people played music for us. That was cool! And the food
tasted great. Then we were tired, so we prepared our beds, but we didn’t sleep until midnight – too
busy talking!
